PART 40,

My friend was like a child. Is if he just became a young man... Would you laugh or cry on his situation... In the end, he was going to ask her out... The subject in question wasn't a sacred ceremony. But he was asking me whether that location had been suitable for that kind of an offer.
Some courage giving was needed to Shahid. I answered him with a voice tone of someone who was sure of what he's talking about:
- Yes, my friend. I think that the party at Asanbay is very suitable for this conversation. Think for a second... I'ts name is "Women's Holiday"... All the women will be exceptionally joyful and happy. Some drinks and some music will redound to the romanticism of the night. As far as we know Luda doesn't have a boyfriend either. Meaning that she will feel lonely (*not sure about the expression) in the group. Shortly, it's the most perfect time to make the proposal you are thinking about!
When I saw that Shahid's tense face features had relaxed and a peaceful expression settled on his face, I felt relieved too.
I had influenced him. Tomorrow he was going to take the necessary initiative and we were going to see it's results together. At the meanwhile, I noticed that my indecision about whether to go to the party or not ended. I couldn't miss the most important phase of this event I became a part of. Come what may I was going to go to the party.

Quoting Ayla:

PART 40,
As far as we know Luda doesn't have a boyfriend either. Meaning that she will feel lonely (*not sure about the expression) in the group.

I think your translation is ok, Ayla.

PART 41, (Ayla, I hope you don't get angry while you translate this part. This is just a fiction, as you know.)

PART 41

- All right my dear Fatih" Shahid said. "My hands and legs have begun to tremble already; but as you said I'll go to Asanbay Café tomorrow and I'll talk to Luda. May God be my helper! I don't know what the result is going to be! What if she doesn't accept!... What would I do then! How would I look at her face... at your face... at the other friends' faces ever again?"
"My God!" I said to myself "My God! Those women, what kind of beings are they? How are they driving men crazy? My friend who is sitting in front of me... A man, with a value that could hardly be found among thousands of people in the street when looking with a lantern, what has he turned into (what happened to him) because of a woman?" If it was possible and Luda could see Shahid's condition; She would certainly be both amazed with herself, that she could affect a man like that, and feel proud of herself!?"
At the point my thoughts arrived to, I noticed that I began to feel angry. My rage was about to turn towards both Luda and the type she represented. According to me, if we tried to evaluate Shahid and Luda, my friend was worth forty Ludas. That's why there was no need to lenghten the discussion:
- Don't worry my friend... Everything will be all right and you will receive a positive answer from Luda tomorrow. If I know womenkind a little, I can tell you from now that you'll reach a favorable outcome at the end of this expectation" I said and added:

PART 42,
On bire geliyordu. Kalkmak, vaktiydi. Şahid saate batığımı görmüştü. Soran gözlerle bana baktı ve:
- Neredeyse geceyarısı olmuş.. İsterseniz kalkalım dostum!’’ dedi.
Hesabı istedim ve Şahid’in karşı çıkmasına rağmen ben ödedim.

PART 42

- Then, there's one more thing... I respect your love; but don't forget that Luda is human too... and I think she's not more valuable then you. Because of that, please have trust in yourself and and be comfortable when you speak... and... and forgive me for trying to give you advice!" saying that I completed my words. Truely, I found my attitude as a know-it-all big-brother like and felt a little ashamed.
- Not at all my dear Fatih!" Shahid said, putting his hands on mine. "On the contrary, as you are talking I'm feeling relieved. Be sure, you've helped me a lot. I thank you from the bottom of my heart!"
While we were talking, time had become pretty late. I looked at my watch. It was time to get up. Shahid saw that I looked at my watch. He looked at me with asking eyes and said:
- It's almost midnight... If you want let's get up my friend".
I asked the bill and in spite of Shahid's objection I paid. When we got up I glanced at the opposite table; they were still sitting. With the influence of the drinks their eyes became drowsy, their speech became heavy. My eyes met the eyes of the Kyrgyz beauty and till I got out from the room I felt that her look had accompanied mine.

PART 43,

PART 43

On the outside the snow continued to fall. But the weather calmed down a little. I cleaned the snow gathered on the windows with the brush that was in the car and started the car. After I took Shahid to the entrance of his building and waited till he got in safe and sound, I turned back and left my car at the open parking lot near my home. Ulanbek, the parking lot guard, was waiting for me at his hut at the entrance. He was a young man about 23-24 years old. He was married and became a father to a son a few months ago. He has met a member of Vehhabi origin from the Islamic Movement, and developed a passion to learn everything about religion with the enthusiasm of someone who has just become a Muslim. Every evening, as if waiting for a relative, he waited for me to come to the parking lot; after I had parked my car, at the exit, he would cut my way and ask me his questions one after the other. But today I wasn't in a mood for it at all. Because of that after I answered his hello I said "Goodbye Ulanbek! I'm very tired today. I'm going to go home immediately and go to sleep". That boy... How sincere and respectful he was towards me!.. He didn't have even the smallest expression of shrewishness in his voice. Saying:
- Ok, ok big brother... we can talk tomorrow. Good bye!" he greeted me. When I left him I was carried away with the same feeling again: Every time talked to this Kyrgyz boy, I felt as if I was talking to a pure young man, who came to the big city from a Middle Anatolian village or a small town thousands of kilometres away...

PART 44,
Ertesi gün kalktığımda, saat on ikiye geliyordu.

PART 44

The next morning when I got up the time was almost twelve. It was Saturday... the day of week I liked best.. I tried to nap for another half an hour; but in vain... Chinya wasn't leaving me alone. The naughty bird perched upon my pillow; and was twittering and pulling my hair. It was obvious that he (it) wanted me to pay attention to him. A friend had given this cute lovebird to me as a gift three months ago. In the evenings, when I came back from work and entered the door, he would get out of his always open cage, come and perch upon my head. And I, as soon as I had changed my clothes, I would leave him at home alone; go out for dinner and when I came back in the middle of the night I would wear my pajamas and enter my bed. Lately I was frequently thinking that I hadn't been able to reserve enough time for the poor bird and I was getting sad because of it.
I got up. I gave Chinya his feed. I shaved, took a shower and wearing a sports outfit I got out. There was a sunny but cold weather outside. The time was almost two and I still haven't eaten breakfast. I took my car from the parking lot and drived to Yusa Restaurant. In local cafes and restaurants menues, unfortunately, A Turkish style breakfast didn't have a place. Yusa was one of the very few Turkish restaurants in the city, and it acquired a special position for itself in Bishkek rightfuly, because of it's kitchen, and as much for it's wholesome atmosphere and the quality of their service.
