in above link, you may find something as well. it tells how ataturk is somehow convinced that we Turks came from this legendary continent called 'Mu' and then he sent an historian to South America to investigate the mayan language . (however, it seems like the investigation was not a success, because the historian found only one word 'tepek' which might have come from turkish 'tepe')

Problem is I can only use scientifically accepted works But in my own opinion I can add some of this. I didnt come across that Mu thing though! Have to quickly write a paragraph about the history theory of the Tarih Kurumu, (which helped making the GDT acceptable) and then Im done! Can add that in a note for readers to read as further information though! Thanks!!

How would you say Türkiyeyi yıkıyor?

I know yıkmak only as destroying, ruining, but I heard more people use it in the context of the excitement of football, so I figured it must mean something like to go crazy, to turn upside down?

I was reading this article the other about turks and other languages in Turkey.
http://www.taraf.com.tr/Detay.asp?yazar=12&yz=848(It is Turkish)
A nice historical view about the transformation from multi language/mutli ethnic society to current one..

Will have a look, thanks. Writing a 10 paged essay on the Güneş Dil teorisi, how it was possible that such a ridiculous and radical theory was so broadly accepted by the people and the linguists. Your link might provide some nice background information!

kalp, zihin, millet and hazine are arabic. Turk, de, dil, icin, kutsal, and bir are Turkish words. Apparently there isn`t any Persian word here.
