I always wonder about this too. I think money is becoming more and more important to people. Whole lives are spent in its pursuit. It seems some people judge the quality of their lives with material things, but the more material thinks you gain, the less satisfied by them you become and so the constant search for material gratification continues. We should STOP, look at what we have that is NOT material - friends, family, love, a beautiful world, and be happy with it !

A favourite quote of mine is "nobody ever lay on their death bed wishing they had spent more time at the office"...

Well I'm just trying to make as much as money as possible not to have to spend time at the office

But indeed, you are right. I bought way less things since that thread about blonde-haired-lynda and animal-tested products. It doesn't mean I never buy thigns anymore and doesn't mean I never buy things i like but only things that are useful.. I just changed the goal of my money.

And you should be sure I'm so happy with the friends I have

(and with my lover and family too, but you are not in these categories )

Katie Melua - Mockingbird Song

Hush now, Honey, here's the word
My Baby's gonna buy me a mockingbird
If that mockingbird don't sing
Baby's gonna buy me a diamond ring
If that diamond ring don't shine
We'll still have a real good time,
So I'm making it clear
Woah, woah.

To this man that I have found
I'm gonna sing the sweetest sound
And if that sweetest sound don't rock
I'm gonna buy him a music box
And if that music box don't play
I'm gonna stay with him anyway
So I'm making it clear
Woah, woah

When that man and I are wed
I'm gonna keep him warm in bed
And when my man's no longer hot
I'm gonna bring him a vodka shot
And when that spirit's made him strong
I'm gonna stay with him all night long
I'll be holding on tightly
Woah, woah

I drink to my dear friend Joji whom I've known for over 14 years (that is a lot considering I'm 18 ) and who has always dreamt of being an actor. Now he is asked to host a childrens' tv-show and accepted at the Academy for Acting

I also cling my glass to you Bliss, cheers!

Dear friends,

Last friday, I got my Turkish visa in my passport It took some hours waiting in a big Turkish crowd with no one speaking Dutch, but i managed to struggle through and got my visa I'm very happy about this, as it gives concrete forms to my plans. Still, my parents are not sure if they want me to go. At least, they wonder where to get the money from. This is the reason I haven't been online much.. I'm working my bum off to save up at least a 1000€, to show them I'm willing to work hard for it. I just hope it all goes allright, but thought I should letyou know i got the visa.

Secondly, i had to sign a paper in which i said i was aware of the fact i cannot work in Turkey with the visa i received, but also that I have to go to the police department within one month of arrival, to confirm my stay and to pay for this. I already paid 55 euros for the visa-sticker, and I wonder what these costs are? I couldn't find them out, can someone tell me where I might find more info?
Thanks.
