University publications are sold to public. They are definately available to anyone on their campus bookshop. Sometimes they are also available on high street bookshops. Some universities, for instance Boğaziçi, have their online bookshop. Recently I called Boğaziçi University's bookshop for the book "Kayıp Çanta" as it was out of print.
They have a series of books for foreigners. For instance their famous " Turkish For Foreigners" books (2 volumes) are widely available on everywhere.
Here is a link to their official page:

Not all university publications are so organised. A few times I went to some universities just to buy their books. I remember going to Hacettepe and Ege Universities and the prices were comical. The bonus was that I could meet the author as well and talk about their books.
I met Ioanna KUÇURADI at Hacettepe university. She is a famous Turkish Philosopher and she was very kind as I didn't have even an appointment.

What do you mean with comical prices?

Haha that sounds great, if you just meet them

I agree. In my faculty, some books are 5 YTL =~ USD 3.
Most of them are not more expensive than USD 10.

GREAT!

It depends on the university and department

Ok Well it is EGE Üniversitesi, Turkish language and literature department.. but I don't think you know and don't be bothered to find it for me. Thanks for all the answers.

Is it possible to buy books from the university which are not related to your own faculty? For example if I would be interested in German and English literature (which I am), would I be able to buy those books from the University itself too.. or is it only meant for those who attend the faculty they are produced for?

I think you will find the books very cheap comparing to the prices you pay now in your country. Only some imported books are going to be expensive but there aren't going to be any imported books related to Turkish Language and Literature.

THANK YOU

Yes, in highschool this year.. I paid €549,- euros for books!!! And that is just highschool!!! It is because i took many classes, btu still..the amount of money seems so absurd, because we barely used the books :-S

Once again, thank you.

My course the first year will only work with copies which we get handed out in class, so that even doesn't count for next year. I hope that the costs for Turkey will be around €1000-€2000,- a year cheaper than Holland..t hat would make my parents so happy

In my department, a price of an original copy of a book based USA is approx. USD 25-30. I need to have 3 or 4 books like that each semester (half year), but usually I don't buy the original one, even it seems cheaper than in Holland, it is very big amount for every student in Turkey, I think. So we get the photo-copies mostly. Generally, instructors allow that.

I just saw that restriction when I was in English preparatory class. I think, because some investigators from Oxford Pub. used to come and look sometimes.

Ok.. well I'm pretty lucky in this case.. my money will be worth more in Türkiye when I get it changed, and the prices will be lower too. So for Dutch standards, life seems pretty cheap to me.. except that I don't get any scholarship, like everybody else in Holland gets. So that means my parents have to pay everything. So information like these is really important for me, so that i can learn how much money i need to ask from them.

The trouble will start when I get a Turkish salary because then i don'thave the advantage of the money rates anymore But that day is far from here.

Many universities in Turkia have their own publications and they have a bookshop inside the campus.

But new books cost a fortune, especially in special campus bookshops At least, it's like that here!

What do you usually pay for the books you need to use at university? In Holland, depending on the university, you have to pay between €400,- and €500,- each year for the books you buy or use. But I heard that in Türkiye they also use a lot of copies. Is this true? Or does it depend on university? If so, then what do you pay for the books at university?

Thanks in advance.
