Ah non.. je n'aime pas du tout l'équipe nationale de la France :no_way:

Mais Zizou, il est très bien.. mais je crois que c'est la fin de sa carrière, non?

I don't get why you'd be charged high. You buy just the phone, and you can put a turkish simcard in it.

I guess, as DK says, it really depends what it's use will be. If the phone is to be used in Turkey for mainly calling home to UK, then by buying a Turkish SIM card you are just passing the cost onto people who call or sms you!! !

Also, if it is only to use for a week or two at a time, then the extra cost of enabling your phone would still be less than a new SIM card...

Well if it's only for calls back home to UK I advice to use a phonebooth or a callhouse. They are rather cheap compared to the other options we gave you. Or then you could just use Nesrin's phone and pay her back the bills you made.

Anyway just let us know what it is for and we will be more than willing to help. I guess we all love your story

And I'm really gonna go to bed now because I just PM'd Meltem that I was gonna go for real, and otherwise I will start to sound very unreliable

Also goodnight to you Aenigma! Kiss!

If you use a UK simcard in Turkey, you will pay very high rates. (probably because you have to call from Turkey to UK to the provider and then back to Turkey.. plus just the costs for calling abroad). Indeed, getting a Turkish simcard is a better idea, unless your phone is sim-lock. But you can go to a phonedealer to get it off (you have to pay a little bit of money for that though).

My phone is sim-locked too, but I'm gonna get it off so that I can borrow one of Kadir's simcards when going on holiday in 3 weeks. In that way I can easily call him if he's in Izmir and we're in Çeşme. But when I go live in Turkey, I'll probably just buy a new phone, mine is gettin old and lazy anyway. But money :-S

Hello LP! Is the phone for yourself or for Nesrin? If it is for you, it is easy to get your phone "enabled" for use abroad, just phone your mobile company. There is no cost and once it is enabled you don't have to ask them again. The only problem with this is the cost of calls and sms!! You are charged high rates - also if anyone phones you from the UK YOU are charged the additional rate, not them! The UK caller does not have to change country code - they just dial your normal number.

If the phone is for Nesrin, just buy the phone you want and when you are in Turkey she can use her existing Turkish SIM card.

Does this answer your question???

Make sure there is no sim-lock on the phone in the second case tho

And from what I understood, I'd do it like this: I'd buy a nice phone in the UK without a SIM-lock on it and once I would arrive in Turkey, I would buy a new Turkish sim-card. They are not so expensive and then you egt to choose what is most cheap for your personal use. Also, if it's for you when you are in Turkey, it will be practical to have your own turkish number as you can contact Nesrin with it easily without having high costs.

If it's for Nesrin you might consider just buying it in Turkey.. UK phones haven't got the Turkish characters in their system (usually). They are not that necessary, but I'd find it very annoying if i oculdn't type the ışğ when I'd need them.

Maybe you could be a bit more specific for which goal you'll need/use it.

I was in Rotterdam with my family before I went to Robbie WIlliams. I saw the posters for Gülşen and wanted to go, it was in Beachclub Paradiso, right? But I didn't have any money and no time either as I had to work on that day.

Keremcem was in Rotterdam the 23rd too..

Perhaps the site administrators may like to create a means to delete an enire post - not just the ability to edit it so it has no text!!!

Yes indeed. I find it very annoying when I accidentally hit the 'send' button twice and then have twice the same post. Either I modify and empty it, or I find a lame text to trade it for :-S But just clickign 'delete' would be way easier.

Actually, I do feel European! I wonder what it feels like to be Dutch and I wonder if I feel that or not? :-S This may sound weird, but I never had this really Dutch feeling.
But I can say I feel quite European.. I'm western, thinking quite free, but can also identify me with the somewhat more stronger morals and intense emotions of the more eastern 'warm blooded' parts of Europe. Also, I've been to quite a lot of European countries and I like Europe as itself.

But these words I just typed sound a bit weird and empty.. it's too late for me to think clearly! Goodnight everybody
