Quoting Kelebek

Çekirdekle degil……. B A Y R A K L A

My guess ... and it is a guess.

Çekirdek is a seed or kernel. It is something small, and hidden.

Bayrak is a flag. It is waved on high.

Could we say:

Not with a hidden seed .. but with a showy flag

Or with poetic licence:

Not in secret ... but trumpeting it to the rooftops

But, again, this is a guess.

I guess, too, the one about Not with a cigar, but with a scarf means not those who are rich and just sit in the smoking room talking about it but waving your scarf out on the streets.

Any native speakers (or Beþiktaþ supporters?) who can help?

hmm....should have got that one as dictionary gives ´uniform´ for ´forma´

I wondered what the "American English" (Amerikanca) is for club strip. If it is different I may have made people wonder what we mean by strip ... !

Quoting chicamorena

someone else told me that the song is actually about an impossible love story between a man and a woman, so like they were talking to each other.

Agree, about it being an impossible love story, but the lover is speaking to his or her heart, saying "why did you get me into this mess" !

Quoting Uzun_Hava

( Sen istedin ben dinledim senden ayri olmaz dedim
You wanted I listened else from you is impossible I said
( En sonunda ben de sevdim simdi beni kurtar gönül

Entirely at the end that I loved now you must rescue me Heart

Hala onun pesindesin gitme dedim gittin gönül
Still it is on your back "don´t go" I said you went heart

Böylesi sevdigin için bir kördügüm oldu için
Thus for which you are loving for one gordian knot (unsolvable situation)
Agliyorsun için için demedim mi sana gönül
Because "because you are crying" did I not say to you Heart

I listened to what you asked for, because being without you is impossible.

In the end, I loved too, now save me Heart.

I said don´t follow him/her still, but you went, Heart.

did I not say to you heart that you are weeping

because you loved like this, because it is a knotty situation.

Quoting Uzun_Hava

Gözleri senden uzakti farkedilmez bir tuzakti
Eyes were far from you no matter it was trap

( O bir yolcu sen bir hanci gördügün en son yalanci
This one traveler you one caravansaray owner which your are seeing one last lier.
( Içindeki derin sanci gitmez dedim kaldi gönül
The one inside you must pluck pain that never goes I said it remains heart

Eyes were far off from you, it was a trap that went unnoticed.

S/He is a traveller, you are an inn-keeper (or caravnasaray owner). The one you saw last is a liar.

I said the deep pain within you never goes, it stayed, heart.

Quoting Uzun_Hava

Bunca yil herkesten kaçtin en sonunda buldum sandin
I felt as though you escaped finally I found and you felt
Ansizin içini açtin yapma dedim yaptin gönül
You opened up the reason for lack of memory "Don´t" I said but you did Heart

You escaped from everyone for many years, and at last you thought "I´ve found it"

Suddenly you opened up, "Don´t" I said, but you did, Heart.

Quoting accountant

Sararan yapraklarýn rengini

Solan çiçeklerin güzelliðini

Hiç bir þey geri getirmez

Fakat her þeye raðmen

Hayat üzülmeðe deðmez

Taking some poetic licence:

The green colour of leaves that have become yellow and dried

The beauty of flowers that have faded

Nothing can bring these back

But, inspite of everything,

It is not worth being sad about life.
