It was lovely to read your letter. I read it again and again yesterday, and thought about it for hours. Becuase this message is very meaningful and very important for our future. I decided to write to you in Turkish because I can express my feelings better like this. And at the same time this message will be practice for you, won´t it?

My love, there are things I want to say to you and we have talked about this before but perhaps we didnt completely understand each other. I am not against you buying the Java Cafe, and my thoughts are the same, they havent changed. I am against it because I think you are not ready for this task, and you don´t know how things go in Turkey and what work is like here.

The geçilmez qualifies Çanakkale not destan.

It is not that the legend passes away, but that Çanakkale geçilmez! A bit like the French general in one of the World Wars, I forget which, who said ils ne passeront pas! i.e. The enemy will not get past Çanakkale. The fort of Çanakkale will never fall.

Then destaný yazmak is literally to "write a legend". It means to "create legend" as in to "be the hero of an amazing event."

It is quite hard to translate the whole thing into English.

They were the heros of the impassable Çanakkale legend.  or

They were the heros of the amazing story of impenetrable Çanakkale.

 This message will be practice for you at the moment.
