 araba çok güzel oldu ---->  in this case "oldu" is like " to turn into "

the car turned into much nicer [look,condition]

the car changed into much better [look,condition]

after your car has been modified, repaired, you can say " araba çok güzel oldu "

 araba çok güzeldi --->  The car was very nice

               güzel + di

 Oldu as a phrase can be used as  " Ok, All right "

 oldu o zaman  = Ok, then

Oldu  as  past tense form of the verb "to be" , "to become" ,"to happen" , " to occur", " to take place"

Ahmet doktor oldu ---> Ahmet became a doctor.

Çok kötü bir kaza oldu bugün.-----> A very bad accident happened today.

Düğünleri Istanbul´da oldu  ---> Their wedding took place in Istanbul.

"du" is past tense ending, actually the endings for past tense are "dı ,di, du, dü ". Stem of the Verb takes one of them according to wovel harmony.

In our case it was = Ol [ Verb stem] + du [past tense ending] ---> o ---> u

other examples ;  Gel [to come] + di [ past tense ending] --> e -----> i

                         Al [ to take ] + dı [past tense ending] ---> a -----> ı

                         Gül [ to smile] +dü [past tense ending ] --> ü ---> ü

The general formula of  Past Tense is ;

VERB [STEM] + DI,Dİ,DU,DÜ + PERSONAL ENDING

 Bugün özel bir gün, çünkü [number] yıl önce bu tarihte hayatımın en önemli kişisi dünyaya geldi. Doğum günün kutlu olsun aşkım ! Bugün  "senin " günün ve sana mükemmel bir gün geçirmeni dilerim.

Biliyorsun, Seninle bir yıl önce ilk tanıştığımızda sana söylediğim ilk söz " Doğum Günün kutlu olsun" idi. O gün gözlerinin içine baktığımda seninle alakalı özel bir şey olduğunu anlamıştım.  Ondan sonra her geçen gün benim için daha özel oldun. Seninle orada olup bu günü seninle kutlayamadığımdan dolayı üzüntülüyüm ama söz veriyorum, gelecek ay geldiğimde bunu telafi edeceğim. [Name], erkek arkadaşım olduğun için teşekkür ediyorum sana.  Normally the suffix " me " makes it negatif, but here "içmek " = to drink  infinitive form changed into Verbal Noun form by dropping "k" and takes personal endings when its needed.

For example : Sigara içmen beni rahatsız ediyor --> Your smoking cigarette disturbs me.

as you see, "your smoking cigarette "  works as noun . The verb "to smoke cigarette" transformed into " Noun"

Another example :  Senin gelmeni dört gözle bekliyorum --> I am looking forward your coming.

dört gözle beklemek = to look forward

Senin gelmen = Your coming         gel + me + n = your coming

so you will know the difference by looking at the whole context in the sentence, otherwise you cant just guess it by on its own.

laf atmak =  A girl walking on the street and man approches him and say comments about her within her hearing. something like ; " Hey Baby, you are so beautiful ! " , Hey beauty,I have never seen something like you before, " Hey you have such beautiful legs,,,and other parts of body.."

Of course after all those "rude" words , girls dont like it, or some girls like it......that could be very offensive and annoying depends on what mood she is in..

All and all its not a good thing to do.. But I agree with the comment as there are increasing number of girls that are making such comments about men in public. Some men would love it , I mean to be praised by rude comments of girls, but still not right.
