dayanamadığın anda katlanamadığın zamanda gururun son bulduğunda umarım orda olurum,gerek var mı sence kaçıp gitmek ne çare zor durumlarda bile kıyamadım ikimize

 That is from the song called " Kıyamadım İkimize " by Murat Dalkılıç

 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jzcGOG5xd48

Ölümcül asklar vardir ya kaderi zorlayan

There are fatal loves that forces [pushes ] the fate

Ben kader bekçisi oldum bir tek toz kondurmadim

 I became destiny guard, and never said a word to you

Sen simdi gidiyorsun ya halimi bir gram sormadan

 Now you´re leaving without asking my condition even once

Ruhumu unuttun galiba olanlara zor dayansam da

I think you have forgotten my soul even I hardly stand with what´s happened.

Lütfen sunu unutma-

Please don´t forget this

Dayanamadigin anda

When you cannot stand

Katlanamadigin zamanda

When you cannot endure anymore

Gururun son buldugunda

When your pride comes to an end

Umarim orda olurum

I hope I´ll be there

Gerek var mi sence kaçip gitmek ne çare

 Is it necessary, do you think, whats the point running away ..

Zor durumlarda bile kiyamadim ikimize

Even in hard times, I couldn´t abondon us

Kiyamadim sevgimize

I couldn´t abandon our love

Quoting mean

"hayırlı cumalar" What´s mean??? thank

 "hayırlı cumalar " --> literally " with good fridays" which means " have a good friay"

in Turkish ,  many blessing and greeting words are in plural form , for example :

" iyi günler " ---> have good days [ have a good day ]

" iyi geceler " ---> have good nights [have a good night ]

"iyi sabahlar" ---> have good mornings [ have a good morning]

" hayırlı işler " --->  have good works [ have a good work]

 " tebrikler " --> congratulations

note: the word "hayır" in this case means "good" ,it is an arabic origin word.

normally we have another meaning of the word "hayır" which means completely different

hayır = No

 işin gücün rast gelsin = this is a saying which means " may things go well with you "

                                                                   " hope everything go well with you "

                                             in other words   " Good luck "

Bursa´da

Izmir´de

Kars´da

Antep´te

Istanbul´da

okul´da

kütüphane´te

kitap´ta

 In Turkish the apostrophe ´ is used for Special names like İstanbul, İzmir, Antep,Kars, Bursa...etc.

as okul, kütüphane,kitap are not special names, we don´t use apostophe for them. So they should be like this ;

okulda

kütüphanede

kitapta

* note : We can turn these common names into part of special names by adding special names in front of them. For example ;

Ankara Kütüphanesi ---> Ankara Library

so in this case we can use aposstrophe :

Ankara Kütüphanesi´nde --->In Ankara Library

Students come to Turkey for Turkish language summer school

04 July 2011, Monday / TODAY´S ZAMAN, İSTANBUL

Culture Minister Ertuğrul Günay posed with international students who came to attend the Turkish Summer School

The annual Turkish Summer School, organized by the Culture and Tourism Ministry´s Yunus Emre Institute, kicked off at Ankara´s Turkish Union of Chambers and Commodities Exchanges Economy and Technology University (TOBB-ETÜ on Monday.

This year, the program has brought 123 students from 23 countries to Turkey. The students, who came top of their Turkish classes taken in Yunus Emre institutes abroad, will take part in a summer school for the Turkish language. The group also includes students of Turkology from different universities abroad.

“You will see the beauty of Turkey in the places you visit. I hope you will love Turkey during your short trip,” Culture and Tourism Minister Ertuğrul Günay said when he addressed the students attending the Turkish Summer School this year, expressing his happiness to have foreign students in Turkey.

The visiting students in Turkey will go on cultural tours in the cities and towns of Beypazarı, Konya, Eskişehir, Nevşehir, Çankırı, Kayseri, Bursa and İstanbul. They will also take part in seminars on the Turkish language, culture and the social and economic aspects of Turkey.

I believe we have a duty to build awareness of our language and culture,” Günay said, recalling that efforts to spread Turkish language and culture were helped along in 2007 with the establishment of the Yunus Emre Foundation.

“This law [which established the foundation] was passed in 2007. The name was a good choice.”

Look how the Spaniards named an institution after their world-famous novelist and how the Germans named an institution after their great poet, we have made a good decision in naming our institution after Yunus Emre, one of the greatest poets of the Turkish language. My thanks to the friends who thought of this,” he added.

The location of the Yunus Emre Institute was chosen in the historic and glorious part of Ankara. “I believe it is a beautiful place. After I saw the Cervantes Cultural Center in Madrid, I thought our institute should have such a historic building as well. It really happened.”

The Yunus Emre Institute has opened 10 branches in 10 different countries over the last two years. Günay said he wants to open other centers in Berlin, Paris and Moscow because these cities have a high population of citizens with Turkish background.

Meanwhile, Yunus Emre Institute Chairman Ali Fuat Bilkan said the institute will sign a rental contract in Lebanon to open a branch in the country, whilst an institute in Rome is also going to be established and permission is being awaited from Tehran to establish an office in Iran.

Thanks a lot.

I have another question. How do you read the "25/4" part? would it be "yirmi-bese dort"? or something like that?

 It can also be read as " yirmibeş´e dört "   OR

                               " yirmibeş taksim dört "
