Quoting cybernetics:

Çok soguk...
Bugün kar var dısarda,
Buz gibi bir hava, parmaklarım dunmus uyandıgımda
Baktım bembeyaz bir örtü kaplamıs tüm acıların üstünü
Gülümsedim, pencerimin demirlerine konmuş kücük bir serceye

Birseyler soylemek ister gibi baktı bana
Sanki, üsüme, bu kıs gecer bahar gelir diyordu
Hangi mevsim seni bana getirir ki? hangi bahar? hangi kış?
Mevsimleri saymaktansa hep bir ümitle,
Bırak, herzaman kar yagsın acılarımın üstüne

CENK...

It's very cold...
There's snow outside today,
Ice cold weather, my fingers froze* when I woke up
I saw that a pure white cover has covered all the pains
I smiled to a little sparrow that perched on my window's bars

It looked at me as if wanting to say something
Like saying, don't be cold, this winter ends and spring comes
But which season brings you to me? Which spring? Which winter?
Instead of counting the seasons with an endless hope
Leave it, let snow fall on my pain always.

*I hope you meant "donmuş"

Sanslıyım

Her aldıgımda gitarı elime
Seni calıyorum her notada
Sana soyluyorum her sarkıyı
Yüregimin haykırısını duymasanda

Yazdıgım her siirde, her sarkıda
Ne kadar sanslısın ki, sen varsın
En az senin kadar şanslıyım ki,
Her şiiri, her şarkıyı yazdıgım tek kadınsın

CENK...

I'm lucky

Each time I take the guitar into my hand
I'm playing you with every note
I'm singing to you every song
Even if you don't hear my heart's scream

In every poem I write, in every song
How lucky you are, that you're there
I'm at least as lucky as you because,
You're the only woman I write each poem, each song to

New one for today (21.02.2008 early morning )

Saat 05:43 hala uyumadim dunku gibi,
Sessizligin ortasında duydugum sadece senin sesin
Her saniye geçerken hayatımdan

It's 05:43, I didn't sleep just like yesterday,
In the middle of the silence the only thing I hear is your voice
With every second that passes from my life
I thought about your beautiful face which had lightened my darkness up
There's only one star that twinkles among the clouds
There's only your name which flames up in the middle of my heart
Can you hear my voice even if I don't speak at all
Can you feel that I think about you
In this cold February day, which is my morning and your night...

New one for today ..

Oyle bir baktın ki bana
Unutmak imkansız o parıltını,
Oyle derinlere dalmısım ki
Cabalamak nafile, kaybolmusum maviliginde
Nefes almak bile son isteğim
Boğulmak varken okyanus gözlerinde...

Hoscakal demeyecegim sana
Kadere bir sans daha verecegim,
Gunun birinde kavusursak eger
Hatırlarsan beni,belki tekrar gülecegim
Zincire vurumluşsa da yüregim umutsuzlar limanında
Sunu asla unutma seni hep sevecegim..

Cenk, try to translate your poems yourself, otherwise, they will get lost among other posts and nobody here can appreciate them I'm sure your english is good enough..

Poetry translation works better if done from foreign language to native language, because translation of a poem is like writing a poem, not writing an essay.

BUT I do agree it would be better if Cenk opened a new thread for each new poem... that way we (Ayla, me, anyone else... ) could see what still needs translating and help him out quicker.

You looked at me in such a way
That it is impossible to forget that brilliance,
I was lost in such depths that
Struggling is futile, I am lost in your deep blue
While I have breath my last wish
Would be to drown in the oceans of your eyes...

I will not say farwell to you
I will give fate one more chance
If we meet one of these days
You will remember me, maybe I will laugh again
Even if my heart has weighed anchor in the harbour of hopelessness
Never forget this, I will always love you..
