sorry maybe im asking something stupid but i have no idea .... do turkish people celebrate valentines day?? and if yes what do they say  for ´´happy valentines day´´ to the one they love?? {#emotions_dlg.love}

the simplest way to say this is:

"Sevgililer Günümüz kutlu olsun aşkım (or canım, bebeğim, bir tanem)...

Thread: Dictionary Mistake Alert! \"mean\" does not equal anlam!

Quoting Uzun_Hava

I was on www.tureng.com  looking for defintions of "mean" and "meaning"

I saw     /mean/= /anlam/

This is wrong!!!!!    in English mean has 2 different meanings/

Adjective/   mean is "bad/nasty"    ( and some some other things)

Verb/    to intend/ like "mean to say"

Only when mean+ing (verbal noun) does anlam=meaning (its like the THING of intending)

I invite comments/

i just checked out "mean" at "tureng" and turns out there are 70 different results... i dont think there is a mistake...

KÜÇÜK SEVGİLİM

benim küçük sevgilim
sen bana neler yaptın
böldün parça parça
onlar bilmez onlar bilmez
bakarlar yüzüme
sanki yoksun gibi
sanki yalanmışız gibi

benim küçük sevgilim
sen bana neler yaptın
kırdın defalarca
onlar bilmez onlar bilmez
vururlar yüzüme
sanki yoksu gibi
sanki yalanmışız gibi

benim küçük sevgilim
ben sana neler yaptım
kızdım sayfalarca
onlar bilmez onlar bilmez
yakarlar canımı
sanki yoksun gibi
sanki yalanmışız gibi

benim küçük sevgilim

I spent few hours in Olivium mall, in this february, and I can say that was extraordinary...I found a lot of quality clothes at very lower prices - 5 times sales...I havent words to describe this nall. there are a lot of malls in my country, but Olivium seems the best. We can find here a list http://www.letsgoistanbul.com/malls.htm

I agree with elenagabriela...Olivium might be a little far away from the city center (located in Zeytinburnu) but you can find cheap-n-quality stuff there...

KUMDAN KALELER - SANA DAİR

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SP9LsUvgGJo

Yaşam kadar gerçek
Yaşamak gibi sahte
Öyle çok şey var ki
Yaralayan insanı
Bir yürek çarpıntısı
Onu her gördüğünde
Öyle çok şey var ki bak
Sana dair

Yanlış aşklar yaşadık
Yanlış köprülerde
Yanlış gemiler yakıp
Aldırmadan
İki damla su çaldık
Zamanın pençesinden
Aldırmadan, aldırmadan

Mucize gerek bize
Gidecek bir başka düş
Bir düş ki korkmamış
Zamanın karşısında
Ve bir çağ gerek bize
Ve bir çağ bundan özgür
Öyle çok şey var ki bak
Sana dair

Sonra kuşlar gitti
Anladım dünya yorgun
Sen yorgun, tortusu kalmış
Eski bir korkunun
Görmedin, duymadın
Demedin bunlar kötü
Biz var mıydık?
Aşk var mıydı?

Bu ne senden ilk kaçışım
Ne de ilk düşüşün yüreğime
Ne bu serden son geçişim
Ne de son küsüşüm kaderime..

Is it in relation to work?  If so it probably means they were temping in different jobs for 8 years, this means they were employed, but not on a permanent basis and with the benefits that go with a permanent job, but employed as a temp, under temporary employment, and were probably sent to different places of buisness as an office worker by an agency to work for short periods of time.   Temp is short for temporarily or temporary

so to temp for 8 years would mean to be in temporary employment for 8 years

hope this helps Smile

yeah it is related to work

thank you very much ally and angel_of_death
