Yes, sonunda, I studied grammar, mostly from Manisa Turkish. I know the basics but what lacks is routine, I guess.

MrsBee, thanks, I did some of these exercises, but thanks for collecting the links together.

I´ll study the song, si++, probably I´ll find the melody in YouTube, too... I also noticed sometimes songs lyrics stick into a certain grammatical form, and it´s an easy way to get used to it.

But. What I actually meant is exercises like translating "Ali went to school by bike which his father bought for him last spring" into Turkish. The sentences are actually simple but the learner has to pay attention to many things at the same time (word order, moods and tenses, noun states, basic lexical choices etc.).

After studying for some months I now feel that when I read a text in Turkish, I understand the beginning of most words...

I thought it´s time for me to try to produce sentences. There is no other way to get further now especially because I have no native informant around.

I´d be grateful if one of our teachers of natives could add here Translate into Turkish type exercises, simple sentences where the learner has to pay attention to several grammatical and lexical matters at the same time.

If I had the time to work on fifteen-twenty sentences for instance for a week and after that (not before, because I might fall into temptation and crib!) found the correct answers here I´d have the chance to argue with myself and practice trial and error (which is an excellent way to learn).

Maybe someone else could find this useful, too.

So, it seems that there is something odd about the question. I thougt I understood something wrong. The question is from an official Turkish language test for classes 9-11, year 2007. They say the correct answer is A...

Thank you anyway, Burak7777777.

"Bu okul sizi hayata en iyi şekilde hazırlayacaktır." cümlesinde, altı çızılı sözcükteki anlam özelliği aşağıdakilerin hangisinde vardır?

a) Seni sorduğum hiçbir evden cevap alamadım.

b) Haberini duyunca tüm salondakiler donup kaldılar.

c) Öğrencilerin bahçeden yükselen sesleri yankılanıyordu.

d) Seni kimsecikler bulamaz bu adada.

It seems simple, but how come I don´t understand it at all?

And what about this?

Ali’yi tanıdığımı anladığında söylediklerinin duyulmadığını sandığı belliydi.

- It was evident that RED.

- he believed that GREEN.

Ali’yi tanıdığımı anladığında söylediklerinin duyulmadığını

- you were not heard BLUE.

Ali’yi tanıdığımı anladığında söylediklerinin

- when you said ORANGE

Ali’yi tanıdığımı anladığında

- that you understood BROWN

Ali’yi tanıdığımı

- that I knew Ali.

Add quoted text here

I know it´s not correct and it doesn´t make sense, but I worked hard for it and I think I understood the method. What I can´t understand is söylediklerinin (what is the plural suffix doing here?) and the noun states in söylediklerinin and anladığında.

Thanks, tunci, you solved them for me also Wink. Actually I have the correct answers. Sometimes questions are more difficult than answers.
