What's a hot plate?

The oven idea sounds fine to me You dont need to fry them first in that case, değil mi?

Ohh I love that too. I used to toast some white slices of bread in the toaster, rub them with garlic and put some salted butter over it (which obviously will melt) and then add the crushed 'herbed' tomatoes!

When we ran out of fresh basil, I used a little bit of dried oregano.

Thank you for your reply. Yes they do, a rather big one to judge from the outside actually!

Yesterday I saw my little neighbourgirl with one and I asked her where she bought. She says you can find them at any kırtasiye They are without counter, but neyse, I will use mp3 to get some measurement of my progress

Yes one of mine too But I have a question: the patlıcan season in Turkey isnt that good this year, and besides that,in most supermarkets they are sold in enormous sizes: it takes ages and lots of oil to fry them enough till they are soft. It is also possible to cut the patlıcan and kabak in smaller pieces, right? That wouldn't ruin the taste, would it? So far, all the things I tried with patlıcan, which is my favourite, have tasted great, but on the two edges always were still hard

çekirge bir sıçrar iki sıçrar üçüncüde yakalınir derler bizim buralarda hiç duydun mu?

Haven't you ever heard that among us....... (I'm lost).

I thought it would be like this:

The grasshoper jumps once, jumps twice, but the third time it gets caught, thats what we say around here, did you ever hear of that?

Meaning (just a guess)
You can't get away with doing the same (bad?) thing all the time, after a while you'll get caught.
