Quoting m.k.wood:

my boyfriend wants to visit england for a holiday. he has sent his application to the consulate. but someone has told him that he will need a large amount of money in his account. evan after he has paid the £250 for his application. has anyone known someone who has applied for holiday visa and what it actually intails.

Yep, he needs to have much money in his bankaccoutn as a proove he is financially capable of taking care of himself in case anything happens like a car-accident or something. But if he doesn't have enough money, you can fill in a form in which you declare that you will cover all the financial costs in case anything happens. You should ask the consulate or your city counsil for a paper. At least, it works like this in Holland.

Sounds like he was just expressing his feelings to you. I wouldn't read into anything else. I don't believe it has anything to do with ambition, love for his country etc...Actually, I think it's romantic. Be grateful you have a boyfriend who expresses him self that way. Alot of men don't know how.

I'm sorry, but who are the 'he' and 'you' in your post?

Yusuf was asking whether other members think that 'i can;t live without you'-love is good or maybe a bit too much as there are other ambitions in life too.

I can live without Kadir. I will keep breathing, I might even smile some days. Yes I am able to live without him. But what is life worth if I cannot share it with him and feel a peaceful, passionate happiness?

Love is not everything. But everything is nothing without love.

And therefore I don't feel afraid to say I can't live without Kadir. This sentence just doesn't fit a discussion of love. It is about the definition of 'living'.

Robbie Williams - Old before I die

(ps - I still prefer Teoman's version of Gemiler. Probably because I've been listening to it for 2 years without getting bored now).
