Hmmm, good point, you´re right, but I think it´s still seems that he´s apologizing for not being able to be more attentive - I would think it would be "I´m sorry I´m not able to concern myself with you ..." - it´s less harsh and has slightly different meaning than "I can´t concern myself with you, I´m sorry".

I don´t know, I´m just learning too so I don´t know what the correct meaning is here, but I´d hate for this one to be misconstrued. That´s why I brought it up, to have it double checked.

Wouldn´t "seninle ilgilenemiyorum özür dilerim" be translated as: I´m sorry I´m not taking an interest in you/getting myself concerned with you"?

It sounds to me that he´s apologizing he wasn´t attentive and not breaking this off.

Maybe a native speaker can clarify, I´d hate for the poor girl to think he doesn´t like her anymore

The problem is not the content of your post, actually I did find it informative and enjoyed reading it. The problem is your incredible arrogance and thinking that you´re smarter than everybody on this forum.
