Quoting sonunda

"(Awkward in English, but I´m trying to be literal)."

I think my first translation conveyed the meaning even though it wasn´t literal!

It sure did and it sounds much better too. {#lang_emotions_flowers}

Sorry Sonunda, I didn´t mean it as a correction, I was jus trying to get my head wrapped around the grammar in this sentence (still not sure about it lol)

Actually,

alýn is passive and çýkar-a-ma-yan has the "can´t" in it, so maybe it should be:

It is to be taken that in no case you could be one removed from my mind or heart. (Awkward in English, but I´m trying to be literal).

Anyway, back to work I go, I tell you they´re going to fire me lol.

Quoting sonunda

görüþmek dileðiyle" stands for "hoping to see you soon

thanks for that.

Pretty sure ´alanyada gelince´ means ´when you come to Alanya´

Right, I´m just wondering if it ties with what´s before it or after.

So, my try would be:

seninle ilgilenemiyorum özür dilerim - I´m sorry for not being able to concern myself with you

ama bu kötü günler yakinda biter - but these bad days will end soon

kendine iyi bak - take care of yourself

seni hiç bir zaman aklimdan ve kalbimden cikaramayan alin - in no case take it as you´re removed from my mind and heart

alanyaya gelince msnde görüsmek dilegiyle - when I come to alanya i´m hoping to see you on msn

hoscakal - bye

How does that sound? I hope it´s correct, let´s save the relationship here! lol

I think it needs to be split differently (punctuation marks anyone?)

seninle ilgilenemiyorum özür dilerim - ama bu kötü günler yakinda biter - kendine iyi bak - seni hiç bir zaman aklimdan ve kalbimden cikaramayan alin alanyaya gelince - msnde görüsmek dilegiyle - hoscakal

on www.tureng.com "görüþmek dileðiyle" stands for "hoping to see you soon" so I think it should be "I´m hoping to see you soon on msn"

Not sure about the coming to Alanya part though.

ilgilenemiyorum

I thought this was the ´can´t´ form of the verb.

Hmmm, good point, you´re right, but I think it´s still seems that he´s apologizing for not being able to be more attentive - I would think it would be "I´m sorry I´m not able to concern myself with you ..." - it´s less harsh and has slightly different meaning than "I can´t concern myself with you, I´m sorry".

I don´t know, I´m just learning too so I don´t know what the correct meaning is here, but I´d hate for this one to be misconstrued. That´s why I brought it up, to have it double checked.

I can´t  concern myself with you,I´m sorry, but these bad times will end soon. Take care. Take it you can never be removed from my mind or my heart. When you come to Alanya with luck we can meet on msn. Bye.

My try

Wouldn´t "seninle ilgilenemiyorum özür dilerim" be translated as: I´m sorry I´m not taking an interest in you/getting myself concerned with you"?

It sounds to me that he´s apologizing he wasn´t attentive and not breaking this off.

Maybe a native speaker can clarify, I´d hate for the poor girl to think he doesn´t like her anymore

Quoting cynicmystic

I do not know if you are blessed or not, and do not really care. I did not call you an idiot either. However, you did take the liberty of clarifying that for us.

What is the problem? Too many facts down where the sun doesn´t shine. What is wrong with the length of my post? Is it the content? If you read what many people post in the politics forum, it is mainly personal insults, half-assed statistics and bogus claims without any supporting evidence other than "I don´t think etc." Taking into consideration that a post half the size of mine usually contains nothing other than accusations, personal vendetta and name-calling on this board, I am actually quite proud of my posts. I do take the time to research the facts to support my arguments, and many people here do not. If waht you were looking for was a post in which someone talks straight out of his ass, then I am afraid you should have by-passed mine.

By the way, be honest, did you know about half the shit I wrote in my post about Israeli firms and its economy? Is it that bad for a post to have some substance to its content?

The problem is not the content of your post, actually I did find it informative and enjoyed reading it. The problem is your incredible arrogance and thinking that you´re smarter than everybody on this forum. You accuse people of being arrogant, ignorant, not capable of making long posts full of trivia info that they copied from other books, you criticize other people´s ability to express themselves in English even though it´s not that person´s first language, and don´t think that you comment about me clarifying that I was an idiot escaped me.

That´s the problem!

And no, I didn´t know half the shit that you wrote and like I said I did find it interesting. [1 sentence removed by admin]
