Quoting Mavili

So the clause is everything after -ki ? And you even use a verb before ki because that is what would come before the word "that" in English?

Trying examples;

bilir ki gelecek hafta ayrılıyor zor olacakmış

inanırlar ki dünyayı düz olduğu.

Also, is it only for aorist tense verbs (I know, I suppose, they believe)?

Yes, the clause is every sentence, literally : the side sentence conjuncted to the main sentence with "ki". bağlaçlı yantümce

in your examples ;

biliyor ki gelecek hafta onun için zor geçecek ----> He knows that next week will be hard for him.

biliyor ki gelecek hafta oradan ayrılması zor olacak ---> He knows that next week it will be difficult for him to leave there.

are those sentences above what you tried to say ?

İnanırlar ki dünya düzdür ---> They believe that the world is flat.

Dünyanın düz olduğuna inanırlar ---> this way sounds better..

So ;

1. we dont use this form as much as you use in english.  Main sentence + ki + Side sentence that is conjuncted with "ki"

2. Not only with aorist tense.

Diyor ki

Der ki

Dedi ki

Diyecek ki

Demiş ki

Diyebilir ki

Demeli ki

Demesi lazım ki

bağlama ulacı ----> "ıp,ip,up,üp "

These endings are used in place of the conjunction " VE " and does exactly the same job.

Ali bakkala gitti ve bir ekmek aldı. =  Ali bakkala gidip bir ekmek aldı.

[ Ali went to shop and bought a bread ]

******************************************************

Beni gördü ve selam verdi. =  Beni görüp selam verdi.

[He/she saw me and greeted me ]

Turkey won´t recognize Greek Cyprus as EU presidency

15 October 2011, Saturday / TODAYSZAMAN.COM WITH AP

                    Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan

Turkey´s prime minister says his country will not sit at the table with Greek Cyprus if it assumes the European Union´s presidency before a deal reunifying the ethnically split island is reached.

Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has already warned that Turkey will freeze its relations with the 27-nation bloc if Greek Cyprus takes over its rotating presidency in July 2012.

He said that Turkey will not deal with a "so-called country." Turkey does not recognize the divided island nation as a sovereign nation.

Cyprus was split into an internationally recognized Greek-speaking south and Turkish-speaking north in 1974 when Turkey intervened after a coup by supporters of union with Greece. Only the Greek section is part of the EU.

Erdoğan spoke Saturday during a televised address to members of his Justice and Development Party (AK Party) in the town of Kızılcahamam, near the Turkish capital of Ankara. He reiterated Turkey´s wish that a unified Greek Cyprus takes over the EU presidency.

Note : I agree, Greek Cyprus is "so-called country "that is spoiled by Europeans.

Thousands to run in intercontinental Eurasia Marathon

Every year, thousands participate in the fun run at the Eurasia Marathon in Istanbul. Hürriyet photo

An estimated 100,000 sports enthusiasts are expected to participate on Oct. 16 in the 33rd Nike Eurasia Marathon, the world’s only intercontinental race.

The marathon starts on the city’s Asian shore and finishes in Europe and presents the chance of racing over the Bosphorus to the athletes and running enthusiasts. Apart from the regular marathon, sports enthusiasts are welcome to enter the fun-run, an eight-kilometer competition.

About 80,000 will participate in the fun run, and 20,000 will compete in the 15-kilometer event and the marathon.

However, head of the sports branch of the Istanbul Municipality said the marathon should not be restricted to the Bosphorus.

“It is wrong to identify the Eurasia Marathon only with the Bosphorus,” Alpaslan Baki Ertekin, head of the Spor AŞ said. “It is covering the entire historic peninsula.” The marathon route passes through Eyüp and Balat and travels along the coastal road, next to the historic walls of the city and finishes at the Hippodrome in Sultanahmet near Hagia Sophia.

“So if you make a list of Istanbul’s sights, they will all be seen on the route of the Eurasia Marathon,” Ertekin said.

The fun run starts at 9:30 a.m. at Altunizade in Üsküdar and the marathon starts 300 meters before the Bosphorus Bridge at 9 a.m.

The race routes will be closed to traffic between 6 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Sunday. The Metrobus will not be working during those times, either

Tamam sen sıkma canını. Ben sadece senin iyi bir arkadaşınım.hepsi bu

I have added missing letters into Turkish sentence above, if it was like that then the sentence would be as follows ;

 Ok. Don´t worry. I am just good friend of yours. That´s all.

adıl n si -----> pronominal “n”

This "n" comes between 3.person possesive suffix and noun cases.

Ev + i [3.PS] + n [ pronominal “n”] + e [ Dative case ] ---> Evine ---> to his/her house

Evinde ---> At/in his/her house

Evinden ---> From his/her house
