This is a massive website, so I shouldn't think any of us, including myself, can comment too much on it unless it has been read thoroughly. But some people were talking about what is Christianity and I have found this website, so far I haven't finished it and probably won't for a while it's so large, very useful in explaining it. But it is as it says, a study, so there are many links you need to progress through.

I have often wondered when it was decided and by whom, why it became acceptable to eat pork and shellfish for Christians.

From what I know Christians were never forbidden pork or anything else.

Thats not true. Several references to this in the Old Testament and in the times of Jesus (Isa) the practice was still forbidden. So at some point, a man not necessarily of God, changed this long time practice for all Christians.

I think you will find that pork was never forbidden in Christianity -

Romans 14:20 (New International Version - UK)
New International Version - UK (NIVUK)
Copyright © 1973, 1978, 1984 by International Bible Society

"20 Do not destroy the work of God for the sake of food. All food is clean, but it is wrong for a man to eat anything that causes someone else to stumble."

According to this I eat pork or anything else, but at the same time, I believe it teaches me not to eat pork in front of my Muslims friends or relatives so as not to offend them. And the latter for me is from the Christian belief that we must love everyone. We must even love our enemies. That is a hard thing to do, but do it we must, when Jesus was dying an agonizing death on the cross for our sins and the sins of the world, he said Forgive them, for they don't know what they do. This is the ultimate lesson in loving. Jesus loves us even though the sin of the world was the reason of his death !
And God loves us so much even though his Son had to die for us ! wow !

But you are quite ok with criticizing others! To quote sth from the Bible: you see a little piece of straw in other people's eyes and you don't see a big limb in your own.

Thank god there are people like Irshad Manji who show that islam could actually be something very respectable... if only you stopped being so fanatically defensive.

P.S. I am speaking of Islam as a doctrine, not about individual muslims!

But we dont criticize others, taking TLC as an example
We 'muslims' dont start any thread criticize any religion ,or even none religious ones too !

The vidoe on youtube is about one who is criticizing his own religion, church, rules
And so was your comment was about that, about if it was adressed to İslam .

İf you are talking about religion,or the book itself
Do you want to tell me that in the Bible,God said those who dont believe are good guys and yes their own religion and rules are right and you can follow them ?
Or your bible said that Chritians who are believers are the good guys, who will go to Heaven ?!

quoting your quote :

You are denying claims and not accepting responsibility that there are horrible things done in the name of Islam. That's all that I expect a reasonable and honest person to do. The video I posted in the 'what's wrong with muslims' thread showed FACTS about muslims in the UK. These facts were not pretty. Yet, nobody said anything about it. Just like nobody says anything about many other things...

Most of these links and videos you posted are either made by commedians or propaganda institutions...but when I posted some of the horrible things sanctioned by the church during the Inquisition you got very upset....but it WAS sanctioned by the church.

This is the thing with you Alameda, whatever is saying the truth about Islam, you always call 'propaganda'! :-S Even when Brits here say taht they are angry and tired of what the Muslims do in their country, that is also propaganda for you?

The subject of Inquisition is ridiculous to bring up here because that is something from hundreds of years ago and you are only asking for people to post what the jihadists where doing during their own bloody wars.
