Susuzluktan ölüyorum ---> I´m dying of thirst. [ I am very thirsty ]

Açlıktan ölüyorum --------> I am dying of hunger [ I am very hungry ]

İrtibatta kalalım  ----------> Lets keep in touch.

İrtibatı kaybetmeyelim -----> Lets not lose touch.

                dying to do ... is also translated as " can atmak "

Onu görmeye can atıyorum -----> I am dying to see it.

Biliyorum söylemeye can atıyorsun ---> I know you are dying to say.

İstanbul´a gitmeye can atıyorum -----> I am dying to go to İstanbul.

Plaja gitmeye can atıyorum ---------------> I am dying to go to the beach.

Yeni bir araba almaya can atıyorum -----------> I am dying to buy a new car.

Mantıklı [ Mantıklı geliyor ] ---> it makes sense.

Mantıklı gelmiyor ---------> It doesnt make sense.

Söylediklerin mantıklı [geliyor] ---> What you say makes sense.

Söylediklerin mantıksız -----------> What you say doesnt make sense.

 

Kulağa iyi geliyor  ----> It sounds good.

Kulağa hoş geliyor ------> It sounds nice.

Onu kastediyorum [ Onu demek istiyorum ]----> I mean that.

Ne demek istiyorsun ? -----> What do you mean ?

Kastettiğim şey  ........... -------> What I mean is ........

Seni incitmek istememiştim ----> I didnt mean to hurt you.

Senin düşündüğün kadar basit değil ----> Its not as simple as you think.

O kadar basit değil ---->  Its not that simple.

Erkeksel bir şey [ Erkekleri ilgilendiren bir şey] ---> Its a man thing. [ It concerns men ]

Kadınsal bir şey [ Kadınları ilgilendiren bir şey ] ----> Its a woman thing. [ It concers women]

 " The ending " sel,sal" works like " about, relating to.., " it makes some nouns adjective.

Tarih = history ,    Tarihsel --->  Historic , Historical

Kent = City     ,     Kentsel  ---->  Relating to the city, Urban. 

Kentsel sorunlar ---->  The problems about city. [ the problems relating to city] , Urban.

Dilbilgisi ---> Grammar,     Dilbilgisel ---> Grammatical,   Dilbilgisel analiz ---> Grammatical analysis.

Din = Religion  ,    Dinsel  konular ---> Religious issues

Para = Money,     Parasal sorunlar ----> Economic problems.

Ahlak = Moral ,    Ahlaksal ilkeler  -----> Ethical principals.

Kaba bir tahminde bulunacağım ----> I am going to shot in the dark. [unlikely succeed]

50 Lira eksiğim var ----------------> I am short of 50 Liras.

Ayın sonunda genelde para yetmiyor [para sıkıntım oluyor ] --------> Usually at the end of the month, I am short of money.

Yeterince suyumuz yok. [ Su sıkıntımız var ] -----> We are short of water.

Yıllık iznin ne zaman ? -----> When is your annual leave ?

Your kitchen is a mess ---> Mutfağın darmadağınık.

Dilini tut --------> Hold your tongue.

ilk bakışta = at first glance

İlk bakışta  sorun basitmiş gibi göründü ---> At first glance, the problem appeared quite simple.

İlk bakışta ev bize güzel gözüktü ama sonra sevmedik ---> At first glance, the house looked nice to us, but later we didnt like it.

İlk bakışta Türkçe bana zormuş gibi geldi ----> At first glance, Turkish sounded difficult to me.
