This time it was how to express the English ´so that, in order to´ especially when they are many in one sentence. The use of için seems very wide in Turkish, and the structure with -erek- also brings forth the meaning of purpose in many cases. Besides, in line with human thinking, a single juxtaposition with -ip particle is sometimes enough to express reason and result.

Confusingly, the structure with için has two forms. I don´t understand the difference between them.

Ateşi oksijenden edilmek mahrum bırakıp söndürmek için yanan madde yangın battaniyesiyle tamamen örtülmelidir.

Yangının, oksijenle ilişkisinin kesilerek söndürülmesi için yanan malzeme battaniye ile tamamen sarılmalıdır.

scalpel, I could have cleared up myself the worst lexical mistakes at least so that it would have looked a little better. I was joking about the service. Maybe I should use another colour for trying to be funny.

Sigh. No two subsequent words were correct. I should be awarded with a medal. Not because of my Turkish skills but my optimism: after a week I will think again "yes, I can do it".

I understand you changed the style into more polite and I can see the reason. The English text was from a student appartment site which style was very informal and it must have subconsciously affected the choices I made.

I respect your effort, Tazx1. I also wish to stay in the state of learning through my life and become a sharp and funny grandmother when the time comes.

I am no master of Turkish nor English but I think you are doing fine. Let me tell you a couple of things in your translations that paid my attention as a fellow learner:

1. You translated yaptığı/yapmadığı bir şey with passive and agent which maybe doesn´t change the basic meaning. But still active is active and I would say ´the thing that she did/didn´t do´.

2. -dik- participle doesn´t actually carry a time aspect of its own. It adapts to the tense of the main clause. Thus  -  depending on how the sentence is to be continued  -  the action of the participle can be either in the present or the past. For example yapıldığı bir şey ´the thing that was done/is done´. It can be anything but future (this I am not sure about but let´s see if someone is going to jump to correct it).
