Hello. Have a look at this previous thread where military service also was discussed

Btw, there's a period of.. I think 2 months, in which the 'new soldiers' aren't allowed to make contact with people outside. So you won't really be able to text him or get texts from him!

Thanks everyone
I dont really do short skirts so thats ok. Im a massive fan of linen trousers.
any idea's about gifts etc.

Ask your boyfriend who you should buy gifts and about their interests. I didn't know I was gonna meet Kadir's parents until we arrived in Turkey, so I wasn't able to bring soemthing Dutch. As an alternative, we went to Sirince where we bought their favourite wine They live in Ankara, so they cant often buy that wine.

I'd advice to bring something specific from your country. Is there a special sort of marmelade for the region you live on, or special cookies/cakes?

For example, I bring Dutch stroopwafels. They don't really have them in Turkey, but they taste GREAT and everybody loves them!

My love, how come you are able to speak this much Turkish?

Whenever I miss you, I talk with the stars and ask them about you. (this may sound a bit weird But Kadir and I do it too After all, he's looking at the same stars as you do.)

Me too, I travelled there just one month ago too.... just handed over £10 for the visa upon entry.... of course you are right about the multiple entry visa... this must be applied for before you go.

No no, your holiday-visa is a multiple-entry one

If you want that to be longer than 3 months, than you must apply in advance.

It's incorrect. My mother and sister haven't got a Dutch passport, so they entered Türkiye with their British ones. Because they come from Holland, they didn't have to pay in pounds, but had to pay €15,-.

And this was just a month ago, so I don't think they changed it

You do need to apply for a visa in advance if you're going to stay longer than the 3 months that you get from your multiple entry tourist visa.

The name of the hotel is Nişanyan Evleri.
It was absolutely fabulous.

Ahh ok Well that's what I read about on the itnernet!! But it's expensive for Turkish standards. Anyway, I guess we can pay that just for a few nights! It's exactly the hotel I wanted to go to Amazing

There's a whole story about that hotel. And the owner also wrote this ethymological dictionary that I'm dying to have!

I don't know about there, but in Holland at Schiphol airport they created a system that you cán take drinks with you on board, but they must be bought in the 'See buy fly'-stores. You purchase it and then they take it for you in a special bag with your name/flight number on it. When you board, you get it back so that you can drink it in the plane, without having been able to put some explosive material in it while being in the see buy fly department.

But I think this is only a good idea for long flights where drinks are not inclusive. I always fly all-inclusive so then I don't need to take drinks with me on board. I'd also avoid any aggravation and just stick to the rules.

Do you remember the name of that hotel, Bod?

I'd love to stay in a traditional hotel where you'd have to light a fire for warm water! I'm hoping to learn about a nice, cosy place, so that I can advice it to Kadir instead of him taking me somewhere all the time

But the next question is: where does your hubby's family live
