Why don't you introduce them to your native food... they might really enjoy it.... also... look on the web... there are so many sites..... I will get back to you with some and good luck to you.... HOW LUCKY YOU ARE x

Well.. maybe you noticed I live in Holland

We don't HAVE native food Well, we have.. but it's pretty impossible to make it in Turkey. They don't have the ingredients the way we do. Plus, I'm not too fond of Dutch food anyway.

And thanks for the website

The reason I want it in this thread is that I can easily find it back when I need it. Plus, I can't print papers and take them.. I've already got loads of papers, books and lcothing.. taking more will make my suitcase too heavy.

Do you mean you can't cook, DK? Or you can't cook Turkish recipes?

I can't cook at all!!! I can't even make a proper fry-up without my eggs looking weird!!!

All I know is how to make Yorkshire Pudding.. but that's just it!

Oh and a delicious tomato-pesto-pie.. but Kadir doesn't like fresh tomatoes

I will move to Türkiye in less than a month, but I can't cook!! I will have enough people around me who are willing to teach me, but I'd like it if I know some basic recipes already.

Just share easy recipes with me

Well, in February.. I ate lokum for breakfast everyday I just love it, especially the chocolate and strawberry ones. Ohhh.. just three more weeks..

But I do think that.. having so much variety in Turkish cuisine, so many 'special' things to choose from.. will make me long to the simple things I had in Holland
Only, Hagelslag and drop weight pretty much.. I can only htake 20kgs and need to pay 6€ for each kg extra. I've saved up for 15 more kgs, but I don't think I can take more

I'll have them sent

Maybe they do have in the bigger supermarkets, but on holiday I didn't see it anywhere. Obviously I will drink mostly Turkish tea because I love it, but Deniz was in London this summer for a course, and she brought me English tea

Thank you Derya That was a good example of how the meaning of two 'in learner's eyes the same words' can change the meaning of a text.

Someone please correct me. I've never been able to figure the usage of the word 'despite' out, so this seems a good excercise!

Tesekkur cok Ederim!

şimdiki kavgamıza rağmen, seni hayattan daha seviyorum!

Btw.. i think çok should always be before 'teşekkür' (çok teşekkür ederim).

Well.. I hope someone can see whether I was right or wrong about this. I am not sure, but this is just what I figured after learning the word tanrı a while ago. I mean, Allah is not only used in Turkish, but also in other Muslim-countries. So to me it seemed very good possible that 'tanrı' would just be a common Turkish noun, whereas allah then is more defined and not a Turkish word.

But I'm still not sure But also glad I could be of any help

I wish they had 'drop' (lacrice.. licorice.. how the hell do you spell it?) and 'hagelslag' (chocolate sprinkles for bread). Also, it seems rather hard to find fresh daily milk. But how can you make English tea if you don't have daily milk
