Do you already know any Turkish grammar and words then?

Because with just learning 'quotes', you cant have a conversation. Because you;ll be able to say a few, but you won't be able to understand the reply your in laws will give you!

I met my in-laws this summer too for the first time and my lover also did most of the translation, but my basic Turkish is fine enough to have a small conversation and understand the replies. The people you will speak with, will simplify their language because they realize you are just learning

But I don't know if you can say this after saying Hello, or if it is used as a goodbye?

I thought you could say it as a hello, but when I did that to Kadir's mom she smiled like 'ohh so cute'... so now I doubt

Kadir and I bought this CD in summer and played it all holiday long! I especially love 'Ã‡akkıdı', Kadir told me it's some sort of self-critisism in the song. Maybe someone can translate it? I only understand the chorus.
Sezen Aksu wrote it and also sings along in the brigde (which is at the end of the lyrics now).

I'm studying 'pre'positions now, such as aşağı, yukarı, Ã¶n, orta, iÃ§ etc.

Can somebody tell me the difference between these two sentences?

1.Â» Evin iÃ§i sıcak mıydı?
2.Â» Evde sıcak mıydı?

Is one of them more common than the other, or is there even a slight difference in meaning? And why, in sentence 1, isn't it 'evin iÃ§inde'?

Can somebody maybe also take a look at post number 20? I know it's quite a lot, but maybe someone can start and someone else finish it.

Btw, my dictionary says that both 'Ã§Ã¼nkÃ¼' and 'Ã§Ã¼nki' are correct in usage.

I don't know what it means, maybe it came from Ottoman Turkish and has become so common, that also the native speakers don't really realize that 'Ã§Ã¼nkÃ¼' is built from a suffix (if this is true

But I think you were the one who noticed this too.. sometimes when people use the word 'Ã§Ã¼nkÃ¼', it does sound like 'Ã§Ã¼nkÃ¼'.
