I always used to walk in the house with my shoes on. You rub them over a shoe-carpet (sorry i dont know the english word) to wipe away most of the dirt, so it's not sooo bad And no, we Europeans do not jump on the bed with our shoes on haha.

When Kadir was in my house, he really felt like he was dirting the house when he walked in it with shoes just like we did.

Now that i spent a week with him, i got used to putting my shoes off. So i just take them off now.


But i don't think it's so dirty to keep them on.

The suffix -ki- is used in many ways, all i know is that one of the meanings is a bit like: 'that is situated in'.
I haven;t really covered that topic of grammar yet, so i will use this thread to enlarge my own knowledge too
I hope someone can correct my translations.


Istanbuldaki camileri
- The mosques that are (situated) in Istanbul.


Istanbul'da camiler var
- In istanbul there are mosques.


- Nerede gittin?
- Türkiye'ye gittim, Istanbul'da
- Where did you go?
- I went to Turkey, in Istanbul

- Hangi camileri gördün?
- Istanbuldaki
- Which mosques did you see?
- The ones (that are)in Istanbul.

Is this correct?

Can -ki- also take an accusative nounstate?
I mean like this:

- Hangi camileri gördün?
- Istanbuldakiyi gördüm
- Which mosques did you see?
- I saw the ones (that are)in Istanbul.

Çünkü ağlayamam, daha fazla ağlayamam.
Bir daha ağlamak istemiyorum.

Hadi benim için ağla, ağla
Çünkü gülümsemek istiyorum yine.
