Laura, I think i know you quite well by now.. so I think i can just tell you these in honesty. I will give you some phrases from one of my favourite Shakespeare's sonnets. Maybe they are kinda painful, then I am sorry, maybe they are a cold, scant comfort.. then use it

Love is not love Which alters when it alteration finds.

The love changed when the both of your circumstances changed. You went back to UK, he stayed there, met up with other girls because of his job. Maybe he never meant to fall in love with you, maybe he never really loved you..because after all, it changed. Love is not love if it changes when it's circumstances change..

Love alters not with his brief hours and weeks, But bears it out even to the edge of doom.

Love doesn't change within time, but it lasts untill the end of life. If this didn't last, maybe it was never true love.

At the end of Sonnet 116, Shakespeare says that if these about love turn out to be untrue, either he never wrote this, either no man has ever truly loved. I believe in what he says.

Love is a too delicate subject to talk about actually.. Maybe what you and Musti felt was love, but maybe not the love that Shakespeare talks about.

You can cry over these.. and I know you long enough to be sure you will. I would too Ağlamak güzeldir (It's beautiful to cry), so don't worry about that. But smile through your tears and know that this means that the best is yet to come.

Go on holiday and enjoy every minute of it. Don't expect someone to love you forever, just love them because they love you now. Don't you give away your heart too fast, when it is true you'll be 'old and wise' enough to recognise it and you'll be able to give all of yourself.

Don't forget Musti as he gave you a lovely time. Just go on and wait till suddenly someone is able to make you feel even more special

Quoting bod:

[so I don't have a warm body to snuggle upto to keep me warm today

I didn't have such a body for 8 months..and when I had it, it was 20 degrees And now I need it.. and i will have to wait for 5 months again till i will have him near me.. and then it will probably be over 30 degrees

So i think you shouldn't complain Bod (at least I'm still laughing at a fact that i could easily cry about)

I agree with Slavica. Kadir always tells me he would love to walk with me under the rain..ofcourse, if he is with me, ofcourse i will enjoy. He also says he hates people who use umbrellas because he thinks you should enjoy that part of nature. I think he'd change his mind if he had to go to school like me..i cycle half an hour to school and half an hour back.. and from autumn till spring its mostly in cold weather, rainy or snowy!

I love to swim in the rain in summer tho.. because this means the rain has come after a very hot day. The seawater will still be warm if you catch the drops on your face while swimming

Quoting Elisa:

Come and spend some time overhere, you'll get used to it.
(don't start making stupid jokes about Belgian people now! )

Hehe i know But it's very uncommon here and sounds as if you are saying something as a joke. I noticed in some of your PMs to me, that your Dutch also sounds 'weird' to me. Not as in stupid, but just not as in dutch daily speech.. This is nothing against Belgium tho, as it is more against the way Dutch people treat their speech (badly, that is!)

Quoting bod:

Besides, do you not think that the Sonnets were powerful in their day?

Very good point. Didn't think of it that way. And about the powerful expressive terms.. isn't that why we all started to love Turkish so much
