Art of Marriage

The little things are the big things.

It is never being too old to hold hands.

It is remembering to say "I love you" at least once a day.

It is never going to sleep angry.

It is at no time taking the other for granted;

the courtship should not end with the honeymoon,

it should continue through all the years.

It is having a mutual sense of values and common objectives. It is standing together facing the world.

It is forming a circle of love that gathers in the whole family.

It is doing things for each other, not in the attitude

of duty or sacrifice, but in the spirit of joy.

It is speaking words of appreciation and demonstrating gratitude in

thoughtful ways.

It is not expecting the husband to wear a halo or the wife to have wings of an angel.

It is not looking for perfection in each other.

It is cultivating flexibility, patience, understanding and a sense of humor.

It is having the capacity to forgive and forget.

It is giving each other an atmosphere in wich each can grow.It is finding room for the things of the spirit.

It is finding room for the things of the spirit.

It is a common search for the good and the beautiful.

It is establishing a relationship in which the independendence is equal,

dependence is mutual and the obligation is reciprocal.

It is not only marying the right partner, it is being the right partner.

Diðerinin söylediðini hemen kabul etmektir; kur yapma balayýyla bitmemelidir, her zaman devam etmelidir.

Zaten hastaya malum
þeyler sorulur, malum cevaplar alýnýr.
Ben nasýlsýnýz diyeceðim, o
iyiyim, teþekkür ederim diyecek. N yiyorsun dersem, elbette bir yemek
ismi söyleyecek, ben de afiyet olsun derim. Doktorlardan kim geliyor,
diye sorarsam, bir doktor adý verecek. Ben de
iyi doktordur derim, olur biter diye düþünür. Hastayý ziyarete gider, baþucuna oturur:

-Nasýlsýnýz? diye hal hatýr sorar.
Hasta inleyerek:

-Ölüyorum! diye cevap verince, saðýr adam:

-Oh oh, çok memnun oldum, diye karþýlýk verir. Hasta:

Hasta:
-Hadi be defol!... Azrail geliyor...diye cevap verir.

gitti. Senin duygu kulaðýn saðýrsa, gönül kulaðýn açýk olmalý. Gönül
kulaðý, her þeyi duyar ve iþitir.

One day, the good-hearted deaf man learns that his neighbor is sick. He thinks in his head:

- " My neighbor is sick, I need to visit him, asking how he is doing. But I´m a deaf man, and he´s sick, has a hoarse voice. Well, only some certain questions are asked to a sick person, and you get certain answers, anyway. I´ll say how he is, he´ll say that he is OK, and thank me. When I ask what he´s eating, he´ll say a name of food, and I´ll say enjoy your meal. If I ask which doctor is coming for him, he´ll give a name of doctor. And I´ll say that he is a good doctor, then we´ll be fine."

He goes to visit him, and sits next to him

- "How are you?" he asks.

The sick man whines:

- "I´m dying!" Then the deaf man responds:

- "Oh, glad to hear that." Then sick man becomes angry:

- "What does that mean? Are you glad that I´m dying?"

Deaf man asks again:

- "What are you eating and drinking?"

Sick man says in anger:

- "Poison!"

Deaf man thinks that it was a food name and says:

- "Enyoy your meal!"

The sick man goes really mad. But the deaf man continues to ask: "Which doctor is coming for treatment?" The sick man says:

- "Come on, get outta here!.. Azrael is coming..." Deaf man says:

- "Very knowledgeable, very experienced doctor he is. I hope he can find the cure soon." After he says that, the sick man cannot take it and yells:

- "God damn you!" However, the deaf man leaves in satisfaction because of performing his neighbors rights.

The friend of ten years and asking his health have gone because of the deaf man´s comparison. If your emotion´s ear is deaf, then your heart´s ear must be open. Ear of heart can feel and hear everything.

Quoting pazhystama

dear classmates, i´m trying to translate one quotation but i really feel that i can´t say it in the very same words and it doesn´t sound the same... could somebody please correct my translation?

Why can´t we get all the people together in the world that we really like and then just stay together? I guess that wouldn´t work. Someone would leave. Someone always leaves. Then we would have to say good-bye. I hate good-byes. I know what I need. I need more hellos.

Birisi gidecek. Birisi her zaman gidiyor. O zaman güle güle diye dememiz gerekecek. Güle güle demekten nefret ediyorum. Bana ne lazým biliyorum. Bana fazla merhabalarý lazým.

thank you

Neden dünyadaki gerçekten sevdiðimiz insanlarý toplayýp birlikte olamýyoruz? Sanýrým(Galiba) böyle olmaz(Herhalde böyle olmaz). Birisi gidecektir. Birisi hep gidiyor. O zaman elveda dememiz gerecek. Elveda demekten nefret ediyorum. Bana ne lazým biliyorum. Bana daha çok(fazla) merhaba lazým.

- Try using one of the following in a sentence once: sanýrým, galiba, herhalde.

- "Güle güle" is more an exclamation than a word for goodbye. So "elveda" is better there.

- When you need more of something that you already have, say "daha çok(daha fazla)." Using çok, fazla alone have the meaning "many."
