Did you arrive at İzmir? is really only part of a sentence that needs completing, such as: Did you arrive at İzmir before nightfall? Did you arrive at İzmir on a one-horse open-sleigh? etc.

 Sorry, just trying to bring the thread back to the original discussion.

I also forget Gross National Product (GSMH), where I always find it convoluted that the Turkish for Gross is Gayri Safi which is literally "not-Net".

Out of interest, are all these uses of gayri with a word of Arabic or Persian origin?

 I usually hear gayri used in gayrimenkül and gayri resmi...

Lit: I have always gone, some liked this, some didn´t.

Free: I always get a reaction, sometimes positive, sometimes negative

(It is a play on the Turkish phrase: hoşuna gitmek: to please. zoruna gitmek: to displease)

Agree, but there is a slight nuance on "karıştırmak" that is better translated as "stirring things up", as in deliberately causing mischief or deliberately sticking your nose in to something.
