Quoting Inscrutable

XXXX akıcı bir şekilde Türkçe biliyor. XXXX speaks Turkish fluently.

Thank You

 Doğru [Correct]      it is also can be translated as ;

#### akıcı bir şekilde Türkçe konuşuyor.       OR

**** Türkçeyi akıcı bir şekilde konuşuyor.      OR

**** Türkçeyi akıcı konuşuyor.

because "konuşmak" is  = to speak, to talk , its better to use " konuşmak " for " akıcı "

Quoting deli

 Im not working at the moment, I will go to Izmir  I will stay for three days after I will relax, I think I will go to Uludag on the 15th

 Good translation Deli, I just want to add a bit.

I will go to İzmir on Bayram holiday ---> bayramda İzmir´e gideceğim

and Turkish text needs to put dots and the word "sonra da" is two words.

sonra da ---> and then [ and after that]

the conjunction "da" here is like "and"

 Şu an çalışmıyorum bayramda İzmir´e gideceğim 3 gün orada kalacağım sonra da dinleneceğim 15´inde Uludağa gitmeyi düşünürüm.

- " düşünürüm " form sometimes used as " I would think that [when the time comes] "

in other words when the time of decision comes I will think,

I will think about it then [ about going to Uludağ ]

The sick man of Europe

Hurriyet Daily

Greece takes the title of ‘sick man of Europe’ as chaos reigns in the wake of its prime minister’s rejections of resignation rumors, fired generals in coup suspicions and a surprise rate cut from the European Central Bank.
With his hands tied by the worst financial crisis in decades in Greece, embattled Greek Prime Minister George Papandreou (L) waits for a positive response from EU heavyweight Germany’s Chancellor Angela Merkel, who reads Eurozone bailout plan ahead of the G20 summit in Cannes. AP photo

Greek Prime Minister George Papandreou yesterday rejected rumors he would resign as he stepped back from a contentious decision to hold a referendum on unpopular austerity measures in the face of fierce criticism from across the European Union.

“The referendum was never an end in itself,” Papandreou told the Cabinet, according to statements released by his office.

“We had a dilemma - either true assent or a referendum. I said [on Nov. 2], if the assent was there, we would not need a referendum,” Papandreou said.

European leaders warned that if Greece does not respect the terms of the rescue deal, it will not get “one more cent” from the next planned installment of EU and IMF funds. European stock markets plunged then recovered just as sharply, as storm clouds gathered over a G-20 leaders’ summit opening ceremony in Cannes, France.

Also, the European Central Bank’s new chief, Mario Draghi, surprised markets with a rate cut yesterday to calm investors’ nerves.

In another fear-easing move, the Greek government has dismissed the country’s top  military brass in what some reports say was a move to thwart a coup.

Meanwhile, British bookmaker William Hill offered odds of 4/6 yesterday that Greece would cease to use the euro by the end of 2012, the first time it has bet odds-on that Athens will exit the currency.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Note : I felt sorry when I saw this photo the Greek PM is as if listening to orders from German PM with his hands tied..It proves that getting into EU club you are eventually becoming Slave... when the honeymoon is over the reality comes out the surface.
I wish good luck to our neighbour with all my heart. Hopefully they will get out of this mess one day . But its too difficult..
One of the solution in long term would be ; getting out of Euro currency and bring the Drahma back..But on the other hand how will they pay  off their debts with useless Drahma ?
I hope and wish that Turkey will never go into this EU bankruptcy club.

Family of PKK member killed by military adorns house with Turkish flags

04 November 2011, Friday / TODAYSZAMAN.COM

The family of Sezer Arslan, a PKK member who was killed during a military operation, hung Turkish flags on the walls of their home in Muş.(Photo: Cihan]

The family of a Kurdistan Workers´ Party (PKK) member who was killed during a military operation, hung Turkish flags on the walls of their home in the eastern province of Muş, saying their son was deceived by the PKK.

The 19-year-old Sezer Arslan was among the terrorists killed during recent military operations against the PKK in the Kazan Valley near Hakkari. Arslan´s family hung Turkish flags on the walls of their home as they received condolences in defiance of the PKK.

The boy´s father, Mehmet Arslan, said his son was deceived by the PKK while he was a student at the Hakkari Anatolian Teacher Training School two years ago. “I sent my son to Hakkari as I wanted him to be a teacher. They [the PKK] deceived him two years ago and took him to the mountain. We have one military and flag. We are not traitors. We are all Muslims; we want to live under the same flag in this country,” he said.

Arslan, the father of seven other children, said one of his sons is a policeman and that he always feared the two would have to face one another. The grieving mother, Kadriye Arslan, said she still cannot believe her son went to the mountains with the PKK.

“He was a good boy. I could have never imagined that he would do such a thing. They deceived my son and took him to the mountains. I am engulfed in sorrow and do not want other mothers to be like me,” she said.

Note : I think the flag in the photo says everything..

Some Kurdish young people are being brain washed by some internal and especially international powers. Their aim is obviously to create the caos in Turkey. Dont tell me about Human Rights, fighting for freedom rubbish.. as you see and listen to what the father of terrorist says..." We have one military and flag. We are not traitors. We are all Muslims; we want to live under the same flag in this country,” he said.

Thats good beaton that you are curious about the regional accents or sayings, but at the end of the day that word is not counted as "Standart Turkish Word " as it is only used in a small region. what I mean is that if you stop 100 people randomly on the street in Ankara  and ask them if they know what "voyn" means I am 100 percent sure they will say that they never heard that word before or they will just speculate on it.

I also wanted to give some examples after Scalpel´s perfect explanation

if it is one word ;

sende

---> in you,with you.

sende kayboldum

---> I lost in you.

sende sevgi yok

----> there is no love in you.

anathar sende mi ?

----> do you have key with you ?

-------------------------------------------------------------------

if it is seperate words ;

sen de ----> you also, you too, you as well., you either.

sen de gel ---> you also come.

sen de beni seviyor musun ? ----> Do you love me too ?

sen de gitmezsin ---> you wouldnt go either.

--------------------------------------------------------------------

sana da ---> to you too., to you either. [ Dative case of "Sen", bana da = to, Ona da = to him, to her, bize de = to us , size de = to you [plural or polite you ], onlara da = to them ]

bunu sana da s

öylemem lazım  ----> I need to tell this to you too.

O sana da gelmez ----> He/She wouldnt come to you either.
