Keep posting kızım, sounds great!

Hehe Evet evet!

But I have to say that I made it twice now and though the taste was good according to the ones who ate it (even Kadir agreed it was fine and it wasnt like his mums ), the structure wasnt good.. first time too thick.. second time too watery.. praying for the next time Going to ankara tomorrow, hope to learn a bit more!

Before I add the onions to the boiling water with lentils, I bake the onions in a frying pan a bit, together with birer tatlı kaşığı biber ve domates salçası, a teaspoon black pepper, karabiber and at the end just a tiny bit of mint.

Also, after adding these to the lentils, a bit of salt and a tablespoon rice.

This is how Kadirs mum taught me.

Btw if you let it boil long enough (or use a düdüklü) you dont need to smooth it with a blender.

I am thinking that it was nice to come here again, just to see how I got mentioned twice in the same thread

Sophie, I am not totally gone I am just tired of the useless offensive discussions that I used to join but now, living in another country which makes me both wonder about Turkey and Holland, I feel like I am the last one to comment on something. Having enough trouble to form an opinion about the way things are going in Turkey, reflecting them upon the way I was raised..
Once I get into university, some days will start to become monotone again and I think that at that day I will escape back to TC

Aenigma x, thanks for your compliment But now that English, which has always been my second language, has become my first language.. I see how much I dont know! It is amazing how hard it is to make a language your first one! But having more trouble with making Turkish my second one for just now

I am trying to read a children's book and I am stuck on the first line

Btw, dont get demotivated. Even if you dont understand, you will learn to understand the sentencestructure by going through the book.

I am reading a childrensbook too, short stories of Ömer Seyfettin. I just started it and I am trying another approach now: the book has only 50 pages and its small, so I am looking up all the words of every page İ dont know and study them. Then, when I know all the words, I will try to read the book one month later. I am at the second story only with listing the words so I cant tell if it pays off, but I just need to enlarge my vocabulary because it hasnt increased for quite some time unfortunately.

olalı = since it was

For example the song of Sezen Aksu:

İstanbul, İstanbul olalı
Hiç görmedi böyle keder.

(Ever) since İstanbul is İstanbul
She has not seen such sorrowç

I am not sure though, if in other cases than the verb 'to be', it needs a repition. For example.. 'Gitti gideli' or just 'gideli'. I am confused because I have heard 'Gitti gideli' used..

For what it's worth as İm in İzmir, its extremely soft here. 15 to 20 degrees during the days.. and from what I noticed on the weatherforcasts for as long as Im here.. İzmir and İstanbul usually differ only a few degrees, so I'd pack for around 15 degrees day time.. but in the evening it gets pretty cold here so for the evenings I should take something warm.

Have a great time there

Sezen Aksu gives a Sevgililer günü partisi in İzmir but we dont have money enough for two tickets So I was rather happy to hear that the acoustic in the place where it is held is bad and that you can't sit

Bülent Ersoy is most certainly a strong, imposing personality.
She can (apparently) fart, and with a single word: "effendim?" cause the OTHER person to apologize!

Unbelievable!! It certainly takes guts to do that!

When I saw it I thought that the sounds were fake, just edited by some pc-freak, because I have seen that show and I cant remember being stunned by this..
