Especially having an intercultural love requires language. There will be many things you think different about or different habits you are used to. To avoid nasty surprises or painful situations, these are things to talk about. Points of view about life and religion, maybe even politics or history. Your dreams, your hopes. Dreams and hopes are more than willing to be in each others arms, walk on the beach and go out together. There is more to love than the things we do to express our love.

But.. who are we to judge someone elses love? No one can ever know what goes on between two people, no matter if they communicate with words that are intelligble to both or if they do not. Maybe there is more to love than those sms they ask to get translated. Maybe those sms are for them what a smile of a lover is when you live side by side. Who knows?

The sea.


The sea is an important part of İzmir. İt is the soul of the city, surrounded by the mountains. People born in a city with sea, will always look for sea when they go to other cities. They will never feel home in a city without a sea. Because they got used to its soul.

The sea is a part of nature with many secrets. It holds the death of many people and who knows which treasures are on the bottom?
İf the sea could talk, it could tell the history of many empires, it could tell the secrets of many many people. The sea holds the tears of many people.

The Land of the Prophets is famous for this part of Turkey (Güney Doğu Anadolu bölgesi), because many personages of the Old Testamant have passed around these areas. With his seven thousand years of antiquity, Diyarbakır reflects his past in the monuments, such as the walls of the 6th century. The last stop before leaving should be Mount Nemrut, which was the Utopıa of Alexander the Great.

A visit to Turkey means entering the roads of history and art, since there are many things worth seeing from the oldest times upto nowadays. Turkey is nature, sports and festivals. The hospitality of the Turkish people can give a broad smile to those who are curious to know their customs.

To cut a long story short.. I promised to help a Brazilian classmate of mine. But she sent her homework on the last few hours and… the translation she wanted met o help her with was SPANİSH – turkish (I can only imagine how it wouldve been if it were in Portuguese!!!).

Now, I translated all the spanish pieces to english, but running out of time to put it in turkish. I would be eternally grateful if somebody could translate the following into (easy) Turkish. If possible please dont use difficult constructions. Its for a presentation and a beginner will have to read it out loud in front of the class (wont be me as ill be doing all the Powerpoint work hehe).

The examination consists of two parts. The first is the "Basic Learning Skills Test" which assesses abstract reasoning. The questions have a minimal dependence on language but explanations are given in English and Turkish. The second part is the "Turkish Language Proficiency Test" which assesses the candidate's comprehension of written Turkish.
The two-part examination is in a single booklet. It is a multiple-choice test, and the candidate is required to select the right answer among the five alternatives.


Can someone please tell me what a Basic Learning Skills test is And how can mathematics be asked in a multiple choice test? In Holland the way of calculating counts, not the answer :-S

Im really freaking out here because I just read that they dont care about the results for the second part about turkish language, when it comes to placing u in a unşiversity.. but I know no mathematics at all and im definitely not good at abstract reasoning :-S

HOW can I prepare for this exam and how can I find a website which gives me all info? Ive been searching for 2 hours and all i get is turkish pages or english not working pages!!

I am just wondering.. is there anybody around here who is scared to fly? What do you do about it?

I panick and become sweaty when I think of it. I am not at all looking forward to go for a holiday to Holland. İf Kadir will come with me, I would feel a lot more comfortable, but we will find out if his parents changed their mind this weekend..

My fear of flying is become bigger and bigger lately. I would not at all wanna fly with a company that offers tickets cheaper than 300 euros. I know its silly but it scares me. If someone asks me what exactly Im afraid of, I cant say ıt and I wont. When they sum up the reasons I put my hands on my ear, start to shake and sweat and panick (and ı beg you not to mention them here either)

Does anybody know if there are pills I could take before entering the plane? How do you cope with being afraid of flying?

I (we) havent got the money to travel by car and thinking of kadirs visa issues it would not be an option in the first place.
