Someone please correct my translation for Wayxgone.

Quoting wayxgone:

Sebnem Ferah

Sokaklar sakin geceler karabasan
The streets are quiet, the nights a nightmare

ellerim titrer kim bu ben kim bu susan
My hands thrill, who is this, who am I, the one who is thirsty

ne soran var ne bilen sebebim yok bana kiyan
There's no one who asks, no one who knows, I don't have a reason, (the one who brşings harm to me???)

erkegim sendin vazgectim ruyalardan
You were the one who was my man, I have up on dreams

Chorus
beni sevmezsen yagmurlari sev
If you dont love me, love the rain

bulutlar aglasin sen gul gunes dogsun yeniden
May the clouds cry, smile! May the sun come up again

gidiyorum gozum yasli hatiran har yuregime
I am going with tears, you have a memory in my heart

sen sev yagmurlari yagmurlar yagsin uzerime
Love the rain, my the rain rain upon me

gidiyorum gozum yasli ah yine yol yol ustune
I am going with tears in my eyes, another road, a road ahead

sen sev yagmurlari yagmurlar yagsin yuzume
(You) love the rain, may it rain upon my face

Thread: Turkish thoughts about moldavian girls

I thought it was a rather normal question, apparantly on the contrary of all the people who answered in this thread.

How much I hate prejudice and how much I try not to label people, or speak 'generally' (because in cases where it really matters, there is no such thing as general), we cannot deny the fact that every nation has a certain image and every nation has a certain idea of another nation too.

It's easy as that. Learning these generalized ideas full of prejudice, doesn't mean you have to think that way, it can actually just teach you how to be careful.

Maybe the question should be asked a bit more specific. A Turkish köylü will have a very different opinion about a Moldavian girl (if he/she already has one on this subject), than someone who lives in a big city or someone who works/spends his/her summer in a holidayresort.

I don't know in which part of Turkey you are staying, but if its close to the Greek border I'd advice you to make a trip to Greece in the last week of each 3 months. That way
your tourist visa will be renewed all the time. Its not really allowed I belıeve, but I know someone who visits the Greek island Chios every three months and gets his visa renewed. However he is, like me, a citizen of EU. This could not work for US citizens, you should try to work this out.

Be sure to find these things out in time and arrange them in advance, otherwise you might get unwanted surprizes once in Turkey, and thats the last thing you need when you are looking forward to 9 months with your fiancee.

Haha most funny I thought was at the end of the article, the addition of VOETNOTEN (footnotes )

I also often hear the answer:

İşte, ne olsun (well nothing special, should there be?)
İşte, ne olsun, napıyım? napalım? (its not that good or special but what can we do about it)

Teşekkürler as an answer in my experience equals to being ok. I tried a few times to answer with Teşekkürler instead of saying that İ was ok.. and then it goes like this:

A - Nasılsın?
DK - Teşekkürler, sen nasılsın?
A - Ben DE iyiyim, sağol!

They often reply with 'I am good TOO' , though I didnt say that I was good. From this I got to the conclusion that thanking must be equal to being allright if not used with a negative response.

I usually just say that I am good, or like today when I am a bit ill, fena değilim.

Çok komik bir laf Deli_Kizin "Im always saying shes lucky to be in turkey..no difference between he and she.. just O "

Beni güldürdün!!! lol
Evet Bülent çok şanslı bir erkek...veya kadın?
Farketmez!!

I think she wasn't a şanslı erkek, cos she was obviously not happy to be one But I guess she is happy now and I must say that ıt must take a lot of guts to change your gender if you are a şarkıcı and going on doing this, knowing your voice wont change!

Ama iğrenç oldu ya.. bu kadın.. Maybe she has a strong voice and all of turkey adores her now (I watched that show pretty regularly when there was nothing else on telly and she made rather right comments usually) but.. the way she looks now .. ne kadın ne erkek!!

When she was younger, she looked as natural as someone who did something unnatural can be Actually rather nice! But all this make up and ridiculous clothes..

Im always saying shes lucky to be in turkey..no difference between he and she.. just O

Trudy, Business class on KLM is top notch. If you join the frequent flyer plan for KLM you can use your miles for an upgrade. I love it and wouldn't fly any other way. I fly from the US to Amsterdam and then Amsterdam to Istanbul. If you need anymore info PM me. I don't want to sound like a commercial on the forum. hahaha

Can you tell me a bit more about this frequent flyer plan? I flew with KLM last time and tho it was economy class, it was a very comfortable flight and i prefer to fly with a good company such as KLM anyways. What is the frequent flyer plan thing then, because ı have a feeling i will be a rather frequent flyer..
