Quoting lady in red: Quoting Faruk: Quoting lauraacorah: (name) is missing her darling so very much..cant wait to be in his arms again |
(name) sevgilisini çok özlüyor... Tekrar kollarının arasında olmak için bekleyemiyor. |
OK - I understand why 'sevgilisini' not sevgili but why is 'tekrar' better than 'yine' and why 'olmak bekleyemiyor' and not 'olmaya bekleyemiyor' please? I thought it was only with 'istemek' that the infinitive was used, eg 'gitmek istiyorum' or 'gelmek istiyorum'. I thought that with any other infinitive the'second' verb takes the 'ma/me' ending? |
"Tekrar" is not better than "yine", I just wrote it, both are possible. But if I think for a second, I may have this meaning if I'd use "yine": (name) couldn't wait again to be in his arms". So "again" is now quilifying "waiting" instead of "being in his arms". But if I use "tekrar" you won't have that meaning. But I didn't write it for all these, just wrote it
(However, actually, there must be a comma after "yine" or "yine" must be placed before "bekleyemiyor" to give the meaning I told about. But, there may be a humankind getting different meanings, who knows? )
And within that hurry, I translated whole sentence reading once. So I just got the idea and translated. That means, you're right. "olmayı bekleyemiyor" could be better, or the exact translation. So it could be both my translation and this:
"(name) sevgilisini çok özlüyor... Yine kollarının arasında olmayı bekleyemiyor."
Sorry, it took so long, but explanation is explanation
