A few months ago, in a private message, i seem to have offended a Turk speaker with this phrase?

"Ne demek istediğini anlayamadım. "

Was this "nonsense" or was it offensive?

I was trying for "what did you want to say"

teşşekürler.

Quoting gezbelle:

for u.s. citizens it is US$20 or eur 15.

here is a price list of how much each nationality that requires a visa to get into turkey will have to pay, and which monetary denominations they can pay in:

http://www.turkeytravelplanner.com/details/BorderFormalities/visa_fees.html

please use this as a guide only as prices may change.

çok teşekkürler, Gezbelle.

Herkes Seni Evli istiyorlar misiniz?

Quoting sen-kim-sin:

hello, pls

Let's go!

Let's do it!

Give me money!

Kiss me and hug me!

Word by word:

Hello please= Merhaba, lütfen.
(I am not sure that Turks combine these two words?)

Lets go: =Hadi (or) Hadi Hadi
(Pretty sure about this)

For the last two you need a native speaker. I can translate word for word but it won't in Turkish.

When I went to Istanbul last January, I was told to give the person at the Visa booth an American 20 dollar bill. Perhaps I gave a big "tip"?

As i recall, its forbidden to drink alcohol

I think this is wrong; because in Christianity (red) wine, for example, is believed and considered to symbolize "the blood of Jesus", that's why even in Churchs Christians are served wine.

Ohhh then how come our Church saying drink alcohol is forbidden ?!
Aren't all Churches saying same rules in the Bible ?

Absolutely NOT. Some Christians drink "as fishes".. Some other (SECTS) say it is forbidden. There is no single version of what the Bible says. ESPECIALLY with Christians.

Examples. Catholics can drink. The Morman sect says don't drink, but many Mormans do anyway. There is no single answer.

I have thought this for a long time. Piss on the EU...
In 10 years, there will be no advantage.
Stay true to self governing secularism.

I agree, but I wonder that there is any advantage even now.

Quoting gezbelle:

maybe have a look at this as a starting point:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Constitution_of_Turkey

here is the current consitution in english:
http://www.byegm.gov.tr/mevzuat/anayasa/anayasa-ing.htm

refer to articles 1-4.

Thanks. Reading that I still feel that at this point their system is still working the way it is supposed to. (It may be working "LOUDLY", but it is working.
