Quoting sufler

Why "hasta olmak" can´t be used in this sentence?

"Hasta olmak"  means = to get sick, to get ill , to be ill

But what illness ? Because the type of  illness is already mentioned "sıtma"  we don´t use "hasta olmak".

If you still want to use "olmak" then it is possible to say " sıtma oldum " ---> I got malaria

12 yıl önce sıtma hastalığına yakalandığımdan beri çok değiştim.

Quoting tomac

Is usage of this word limited to "rhetorical questions", or can it be used also when we are really asking how many times something occured/will occur etc. ? Like in:

How many times have you seen this movie?

Bu filmi kaç kere izledin?

Kaçtır bu filmi izledin? <- Is this correct usage?

Lexically question but semantically it is not question for this special usage.

I mean, in this usage, it is expressing a statement.

" Kaçtır görüşemiyoruz ! nerelerdesin ?

" We haven´t seen eachother for quite a while ! Where have you been ?

---------------------------------

Kaçtır bu filmi izliyorsun ama hala filmin verdiği mesajı çözemedin.

You have been watching this movie for how many times [ many times] but you still didn´t get its message.

"Kaçtır "  is a question word  that is rarely used which may mean  ---> how many times, its been long time since....

Kaçtır seni uyardım ! Ama aynı şeyleri yapmaya devam ediyorsun !

How many times I warned you ! But you still doing the same things !

*******************************

Kaçtır  görüşemiyoruz. ---> We haven´t seen eachother  for long time. [ I don´t know how long that we haven´t seen eachother  ]
