This is the whole list of Azerbaijani Alphabet and pronouncations.

Əlifba

Letter	Name of the letter	IPA	Pronunciation of the letter (English approximation)
A a	a	ɑ	Like a in father
B b	be	b	Like b in bad.
C c	ce	ʤ	Like j in jump.
Ç ç	çe	tʃ	Like ch in church.
D d	de	d	Like d in duck, but slightly softer.
E e	e	e	Like e in ten.
Ə ə	ə	æ	*Like a in cat.*
F f	fe	f	Like f in four.
G g	ge	g´	Like g in goal.
Ğ ğ	yumuşaq ge	ɣ	You never find these at the beginning of words because they are always preceded by vowels. Has no exact English equivalent. It is sort of similar to the Arabic ﻍ.
H h	he	h	Same as the English.
X x	xe	x	*Like the ch in loch.*
I ı	ı	ɯ	Has no exact English equivalent. Somewhat similar io in nation.
İ i	i	ɪ	Like y in berry.
J j	je	ʒ	Like s in pleasure.
K k	ke	k	Like the c in cat.
Q q	qe	g	*Slightly softer g. Pronounce it towards the back of your throat. Like the g in gun.*
L l	le	l	Same as English.
M m	me	m	Like m in more.
N n	ene	n	Like n in no.
O o	o	ɔ	Like o in odd.
Ö ö	ö	œ	Has no exact English equivalent. Same as the German ö, and close to the eu in the French word, seul. Closest English equivalent is possibly the i in bird.
P p	pe	p	Like p in port.
R r	re	ɾ	Same as the r in rat.
S s	se	s	Like s in six.
Şş	şe	ʃ	Same as the English sh.
T t	te	t	Does not have an exact English equivalent. Like to the t in ten, but instead of the tongue touching the roof of the mouth behind the teeth, it should touch the teeth themselves.
U u	u	u	Like the u in put.
Ü ü	ü	y	Same as the German ü, or the French word eu. A close example would be the u in flute, or better yet, the ü in the English slang expression über.
V v	ve	v	Same as the English.
Y y	ye	j	Same as the English.
Z z	ze	z	Same as the English

And one last thing, when we use -acağına form especially for the second singular person [you], it has bit harsh, telling off meaning.

Bilgisayarın başında oturacağına git yemeğini ye ! ------> Instead of sitting in front of computer, go and eat your meal !

Konuşmak yerine biraz iş yap! Aynı anlam mı?

Yes, it gives the same meaning, however I ,for some reason, would go for -acağına instead of "yerine" , Smile it sounds more natural to me.

* it is may be because "yerine" is used more for comparing NOUNS.

Kahve yerine çayı tercih ederim. ----> I prefer tea instead of coffee.

we compare two nouns there. and naturally we can not use -mektense or -acağına since we are not comparing actions in that sentence.

1. The main difference between these two constructions is ; - MAKTANSA [ -mektense ] is used more like for the purpose of comparing the actions.

If we take the same examples above ;

Konuşmaktansa iş yapmayı yeğlerim. [ Instead of talking I prefer getting on with my job ]

In the sentence above, we prefer one action to another.

2. Note that we still can use - ACAĞINA with comparisons.

Konuşacağıma iş yapmayı yeğlerim. [ Instead of talking I prefer getting on with my job]

Şikayet et + eceğine ----> [you] instead of complaining ……….

Şikayet et + eceklerine -----> [they ] instead of complaining…………

Şikayet et + eceğimize ----> [we] instead of complaining…………

Soğuktan şikayet edeceğine ısıtıcıyı aç ! ----> Instead of complaining about the cold ,put the heater on !

Konuşacağına biraz iş yap ! -----> Do some work instead of talking !

[NOTE: This last sentence was said to me by my mum.. , I´ve just been told off !! ]
