                    Bu Kral çok renkli elbiseleri vardı.

                    Osman, namı-ı diğer Genç Osman, tahta geçtiğinde 6 erkek kardeşi vardı.

Where is the genitive ending?

The rule is when the compound has a real owner it always edges out the grammatical owner, for instance

                                   yatak oda|sı BUT

                                   yatak oda|m

Could this rule be taken advantage of also the other way round. I suggest a simple possessive suffix test: if (in principle) it was possible to attach a possessive suffix referring to a real owner in the end of the compound wouldn´t it be a quite certain sign that the first part of this compound cannot take genitive (which would make it the real owner)?

For instance

                                     evin bahçe|si

cannot be mine:

                                      **evin bahçe|m

It seems to work wıth the examples I have in mind but they are not so many. I would especially like to know if it works on a more abstract level like

                                       Genç Osman lise|si

                                       ??Genç Osman lise|miz

I wonder why you call it folk poetry even if the author is known. I got used to thinking about folk poetry as an oral tradition. Are you talking about folk poetry as an opposite to Ottoman poetry, gokuyum?

Whatever disaster strikes us the worst shock always takes about fifteen minutes. After that we gradually begin to feel better if we don´t continue the pain artificially. Our wish to live is so strong. "Time is the cure" is a psychological fact.

The "slang dictionary" I mentioned seems to be written by teenagers. Even many standard language words are considered slang if they have to do with certain body parts. The author does not know what slang is  -  but there are some pearls there.

Yes, I can see your point,  si++. It is a good reminder. These verbs are units of their own right and they usually do not behave this way.

For instance sometimes I feel temptated to modify the first part of compound verbs but it does not work: *bu kabulü etti, *ateşkes kabulünü ettiler. Instead,

                       Mahkeme bunu kabul etti.

                       Suriye hükümeti Kurban bayramı´nda ateşkesi kabul etti.
