Quoting deli

Desem ki vakitlerden bir kasım akşamıdır,
Let me say (the time) it is an evening in November
Rüzgarların en ferahlatıcısı senden esiyor,
the most refreshing wind is blowing from you
Sende seyrediyorum denizlerin en mavisini.
I am watching the most blue sea /ocean in you
Ormanların en kuytusunu sende gezmekteyim,
I am wandering around the most quiet and secluded forests in you

Senden kopardım çiçeklerin en solmazını.
I picked the most unfaded (unfadeable? I don´t know if you can say that but here solmaz means that this flower never fades) flowers from you
...Toprakların en bereketlisini sende sürdüm,
I  ploughed the most fertile soil on you
Sende tattım yemişlerin cümlesini.
I tasted all kind of (dried) fruits on (from?) you

Desem ki sen benim için,
Hava kadar lazım,
Let me say that you are as necessary as the air for me

Ekmek kadar mübarek,
blessed as much as bread

Su gibi aziz bir şeysin;
you are something holy like water
Nimettensin, nimettensin!
you are sent from god sent from god
İnan bana sevg
love believe me

I think "let me say..." fits better than "if I say.." here.

by the way this is only the half on the poem, let me complete:

inan bana sevgilim inan

believe me my love, believe me
evimde şenliksin bahçemde bahar

you are the festival at my home, spring in my garden
ve soframda en eski şarap

and the oldest wine on my table
bırak ben söyleyeyim güzelliğini,

Let me tell your beauty
rüzgarla nehirlerle, kuşlarla beraber.

with the winds, rivers and the birds.
günlerden sonra bir gün,

 One day after some days,
şayet sesimi farkedemezsen

If you don´t recognize my voice
rüzgarların, nehirlerin, kuşların sesinden,

among the voice of winds, rivers and birds
bil ki ölmüşüm.

 Realize that I´ve died.
fakat yine üzülme müsterih ol

 But don´t worry, be comfortable
kabirde böceklere ezberletirim güzelliğini

I would make the bugs in the grave memorize your beauty

ve neden sonra

and long afterwards
tekrar duyduğun gün sesimi gök kubbede

when you hear my voice again in the sky
hatırla ki mahşer günüdür

remember that it is the judgment day
ortalığa düşmüşüm seni arıyorum

I am wandering around to find you.

There must be lots of controls in this holidays period....If you are travelling from an EU airport, Chocolate is allowed but cheese is not allowed except very few kinds. It depends on consistency and packages like Barba_mama said...

thanks

i do travel from EU (Germany).

But how do I know which kind or package is allowed

Merhaba (name). Umarım sen ve (name) iyisiniz. Sizin resimleriniz harika olmuş. Ben İstanbul´dan evime hemen henüz geri döndüm. Çok güzel bir zaman geçirdim fakat/ama hava çok soğuktu.

A learner try...

you can skip the italic words (or keep). if you say "hemen" döndüm, then it implies that you stayed very short.

fakat and ama are interchangable.

It depends on the type of cheese and how it is packaged. I brought some sealed cheese (so covered in a type of wax, not cut in pieces) packaged in vacum plastic to Turkey without any problems.

thanks

but mabe you were just lucky not to be controlled

I also know many people bringing cheese or sausages from Turkey to Germany and never got caught as they don´t check every single luggage. But if they find out, one might have a lot of problems...

Hello All!

I know that when travelling to EU from outside the EU, it is forbidden to bring any kind of dairy and meat products.

But I have no idea if it is also not allowed to bring such products to Turkey from another country. I tried to search in google but couldn´t find an answer

Does anyone know anything about this??? I really want to bring some cheese for my family

thanks

My try as learner:

Merhaba, senin kim olduğunu sorabilir miyim? Meğer ortak bir arkadaşımız varmış. Peki, Hayati´yi nereden tanıyorsun ? Uzun yıllardır onu tanıyorum. Beni neden eklediğini merak ediyorum.

very good translation

just a small comment, we would prefer to say in this situation "merak ettim" rather than "merak ediyorum", although the latter is also fine.

Türkçede bir çok arapça kelime var.

yapım ekiyle türetilmiş özel isimlere gelen ekler kesme işaretiyle ayrılmaz.

when you add something after a proper name that was made by adding a suffix (like Türk-Türkçe or Ankara-Ankaralı, etc), you should not separate it by an apostrophe.
