I seem to recall that Fenerbahçe had a big lead last year as well until they collapsed and allowed Galatasaray to win the championship so there is a long way to go. As I stated in another thread I am not a Galatasaray supporter, I have never even been to Istanbul so would not know whom to support but I just look at the facts before me

If you look at the facts before you, you will know to support Fener!! Last year Fener felt generous and let galatasaray win so people wouldn't get bored with the same great team winning!

Merhaba..
Im German. hope that means nothing bad for you guys...

In my opinion german and english are similar.
for example the word order...

The structure of a turkish sentence is quite hard for me.
Its ok when I read it. (than I can start with the end)
Its much harder for me to understand native turkish speakers.
First of all they talk very fast - I dont get where a word ends and where the next word starts...

I think English, spanish and french are easier to get.
Most of the people talk word for word -
we have words (not only letters who means something - e.g. suffixe)

... just my opinion

but this does not mean that I stop trying to learn turkish

Merhaba Angel. Tanıştığımıza memnun oldum. Nice to meet you. As an English speaker, I agree that there are similarities between German and English. What you say about Turkish people talking fast is true of any language, don't you think? If you are not familiar with a language it will sound as if the locals are speaking very fast and everything becomes a blur. That's part of the "fun" of learning a new language!

I agree!! It won't impress anyone in Turkey if you show a knowledge of the "lower levels" of the language. Why spoil a good conversation with such words?

i just want to know what people think about sexism in english or other languages..and i really wonder if turkish is only one language has same words for genders...

what you say ?

one of the things i love about turksh is that o refers to all genders..i dont need to worry about whether a word is masculine, feminine or neutral, i think gendering words only complicates and confuses things for learners..
german also has gendered words and sometimes it makes it difficult when deciding the ein eine or einen..
neway just my opinion i love the fact turkce has no gendered words..

I agree with Robyn. Living as I do in Italy I heard to learn all the correct endings for Italian words and the correct choice between la, il, li gli and so on. The lack of gendered words in Turkish is one positive aspect of the language. Pity it isn't all so easy!!

"I miss you. I think about you everyday and I can't wait to see you again".

I'm not sure how easy it would be to get medication there, especially if you weren't a resident. However I know there are international hospitals in Istanbul, for example, which might be more helpful, or else if you check the online English Yellow(or is it Golden?) Pages for Turkey, you might find some useful addresses for information regarding medication

I agree that any problem can be solved. No country has a perfect life or perfect system of administration. Once people take the time to see what Turkey has to offer they will find it difficult NOT to stay there There are so many interesting places: Bursa, Çanakkale, Samsun, Trabzon, and others.
And Turkish food, turkish music, Turkish hospitality .. do I need to give more good reasons to stay?!

Gùnaydin! Ben Italyasyorum, ama ben Irlandadanim. In Italy, I often see foreign people use gestures which are normal in their country but in Italy are offensive. Some of these people have lived in Italy for a few years but have never really learned the Italian culture. These same people then say that they don't understand Italians!!!
