(Part 48 continued)

In the university's foundation mission "to raise youth who are connected to national identity and to moral values, who own Turkish world awaraness; who have enlightened minds" was stated. But this mission, as its example was seen many times in Turkey too, had been remembered in important days and meeting opportunities, and been passed over without much trouble with cliché words. Instead of that, rumors about carrying out projects like "Nourishment Laboratories" and "Technopark" which will cost Turkey hundred thousands of dollars were wandering around from mouth to mouth. Some of the Turkish students who came after succeeding in OSS tests in Turkey and were expected to act as models to Kyrgyz students, were "chasing after girls" day and night in cafe's and bars, and some of them were doing that job together with some of the teachers. In short, nobody cared about the mission.

PART 48

While I was waiting for my food, we began talking and at the end we got stuck on our constant talking subject: What would happen with the situation of that Manas University. Would the the board of trustees we waited to be appointed by Turkey for the last two and a half years, be appointed this year maybe? Who would be the members? These were the common questions that occupied the Turkish teaching staff minds. As for me, I was waiting for the solution of other problems and probably there wasn't anyone but me who thought about the existence of these problems. According to me the basic problem was, that this university that the Turkish Government opened in this far region with a designated "mission" and run by large expenses, had been grown completely distant from it's mission. Like every enterprise our government attempted and carried on with unbelievable costs, Manas University Project had been stuck on the "human" element and failed too. This university, that was founded to be a model in respect of economic power and phsical surroundings, not only in Middle Asian geography, but in many universities in Turkey and to High Education in Kyrgyzstan; to constitute a cultural bridge between Kyrgyzstan- Turkey, was busy with raising students who described the idea of being a part of the "Big Turkish Tree" as "nonsense".

I want you to know that I will never ever give up on you, you are mine and always be mine because as much as I love you I've never loved anyone in my life. Sometimes when you go to certain places I have a fear that you'll leave me that's why I want you to promise me that you won't leave me. I'm sorry for today because I've said bad things to you, I really really miss you my angel.

PART 47 (continued)

A wiseacre style as always!... As if I came here for him... "For goodness sake my friend! Please stay a little longer! If you go what would I do here all by myself!" I muttered to myself. At once I regressed:
- My dear Serkan! I didn't come here thinking that you were here anyway. You can get up whenever you like. Please don't change your plans because of me!...
Serkan's face was expressing complete defeat. As for Ismet and Oktay, I noticed that a mild smile appeared on their faces. They knew that Serkan deserved these words. I felt that they were both happy when from time to time I taught a lesson to that show-off fool, who acted as if superior towards them continuously. In order to save his situation, Serkan made another attempt:
- No, my teacher! I swear that we don't have another plan... If you like we can sit a little longer.
- No, my dear Serkan. I don't want anything. Whenever you wish you can get up" I answered to him with a cold voice tone. Then I turned to Nazira the waitress who came to us at that very moment and was waiting to take my order, and began to list my requests:
