PART 44

The next morning when I got up the time was almost twelve. It was Saturday... the day of week I liked best.. I tried to nap for another half an hour; but in vain... Chinya wasn't leaving me alone. The naughty bird perched upon my pillow; and was twittering and pulling my hair. It was obvious that he (it) wanted me to pay attention to him. A friend had given this cute lovebird to me as a gift three months ago. In the evenings, when I came back from work and entered the door, he would get out of his always open cage, come and perch upon my head. And I, as soon as I had changed my clothes, I would leave him at home alone; go out for dinner and when I came back in the middle of the night I would wear my pajamas and enter my bed. Lately I was frequently thinking that I hadn't been able to reserve enough time for the poor bird and I was getting sad because of it.
I got up. I gave Chinya his feed. I shaved, took a shower and wearing a sports outfit I got out. There was a sunny but cold weather outside. The time was almost two and I still haven't eaten breakfast. I took my car from the parking lot and drived to Yusa Restaurant. In local cafes and restaurants menues, unfortunately, A Turkish style breakfast didn't have a place. Yusa was one of the very few Turkish restaurants in the city, and it acquired a special position for itself in Bishkek rightfuly, because of it's kitchen, and as much for it's wholesome atmosphere and the quality of their service.

PART 43

On the outside the snow continued to fall. But the weather calmed down a little. I cleaned the snow gathered on the windows with the brush that was in the car and started the car. After I took Shahid to the entrance of his building and waited till he got in safe and sound, I turned back and left my car at the open parking lot near my home. Ulanbek, the parking lot guard, was waiting for me at his hut at the entrance. He was a young man about 23-24 years old. He was married and became a father to a son a few months ago. He has met a member of Vehhabi origin from the Islamic Movement, and developed a passion to learn everything about religion with the enthusiasm of someone who has just become a Muslim. Every evening, as if waiting for a relative, he waited for me to come to the parking lot; after I had parked my car, at the exit, he would cut my way and ask me his questions one after the other. But today I wasn't in a mood for it at all. Because of that after I answered his hello I said "Goodbye Ulanbek! I'm very tired today. I'm going to go home immediately and go to sleep". That boy... How sincere and respectful he was towards me!.. He didn't have even the smallest expression of shrewishness in his voice. Saying:
- Ok, ok big brother... we can talk tomorrow. Good bye!" he greeted me. When I left him I was carried away with the same feeling again: Every time talked to this Kyrgyz boy, I felt as if I was talking to a pure young man, who came to the big city from a Middle Anatolian village or a small town thousands of kilometres away...

when thinking about you my hands are planting roses wherever they touch, I'm giving water to the horses, I love the mountains more my rose, loving you is like dipping bread in salt and eating it, like waking up at nights in flames, leaning my mouth against the tap and drinking water
