because you looked the word "suffering" and it´s a noun. So in dictionary, it may be ıstırap. however, you´re saying it as "(I´m) suffering fever" which is not the verb of "to suffer" and its translation is "kıvranmak, acı çekmek, etc."

Last but not least, rely on natives´ suggestions more than dictionary meanings, because the word might have a different meaning in that sentence after translation, or it could be a phrase and another word might fit better.

"acı ateş" was Google´s translation I guess and it was wrong. I wrote the correct one for you.
