Just be cautious and not wanting to exceed the parameters of a typical interaction of that type.

please Correct the Turkish below: It is attempting to translate this:

I hope my letter finds you and your family happy and in good health. I was with Asha when she received your letter and she (better WE) were so pleased to hear from you.

My husband, is taking Turkish lessons so that he can speak more Turkish on our next visit to Istanbul. Please forgive us if the translation is not good.

Nur is growing so much she is walking now and saying some simple words. I love being near her and she loves her Nine too! We go for walks in the garde but now the rainy season has started so it is harder to get out.

Benim mektup gelirken, Sen ve ailesin mutlusiniz ve iyisiniz umutiyorum. Benim Kizima ile o mektupsin aldi. Biz c,ok mutlu sendan dinliyoruz.

Benim kocayim, Tu”rkce o”g’retiyor ki daha Tu”rkce konus, acak zamanda Istanbul gelacak. Eğer çeviri iyi değilse, lütfen bizi affedin.

Torunum çok hisli büyüyor. S,imdi o yurip ve biraz so”zler so”yliyor. O yaninda seviyorum ve O Nine’yi da seviyor. Biz bahcede’da uzun yuriyor, fakat S,imdidan yag”mur Yag’ip bas,liyor, S,imdi zor c,ikiyoruz.

Scenario.

A foreign women writes a letter about her family news, (birth of child, etc) to a Turkish friend in Istanbul that is married to a local imam. The foreign women mentions that her husband is learning Turkish. Should she include her husbands name if the Turkish women has never met him? My guess is NOT. She should just call him: Es,im kocayim. Which better.

Teşekküler.

Madturk,

I asked the same question on the translation last month and got the following suggestion. However the source did not claim to be Turkish so I can't guarantee that it represents what Turkish people would sing. I personally prefer the version I sent in the previous post.

iyi ki doğdun "persons name"
iyi ki doğdun "persons name"
iyi ki doğdun, iyi ki doğdun
mutlu yıllar sana

Kendine iyi bak.
