Is that verb the same as demek? I eman does it have the same meaning? and is there one which is better than the other??? I mean to use during speech?

Which is preferable?

Söyle is more like "speak, tell, or even sing". In movies, e.g. interogation, interogater says "söyle" to the prisoner. (different example) If somebody sang a song, O (he,she,it) þarký (song) söyledi.

"dedi" is used for quotations. "Ben geliyor, dedi"=I am coming, he said.

"demek" most closely = to say

(Like English, Turkish has both "direct" and "indirect" quotation forms, My example above is a "direct" form. The indirect form used söylemek in place of demek but I think that is a little beyond this discussion, and I don´t know it well enough to teach it)

konuþmak most closely =discuss or converse.

Generalizations are wrong but I can´t help warning everyone here : Never trust a carpet dealer...

I am not an expert but my wife and I bought a carpet last month in Kuþadýsa/  The seller filled out the shipment documents in front of us and gave us the confirmation number.   We had no problems.  But caution is advisable.   We had been referred by the owners of the hotel where we were staying and they presumably need happy customers that will say nice things to the booking agengies about them.

Please will you be amiable, and help me for this words: üçyol and tekin ap

Is this words have any atachment with somebody address? I am thinking that my friend are joke with me. So, I realy need clarification for this words. Thank you.{#lang_emotions_shy}

To me this sounds like an address.  It is common with Turkish adddresses to include the name of the Apartment building.

üç=3,

yol = road

tekin= auspicious but is also a common Turkish name

ap=apartment

senin bilgisayara sicayim

It looks like an english keyboard but assuming /sýçayým/

"sýç(mek) = to screw up

-a- maybe (makes the verb subjuntive like ´may´

-y- connecting consonant

-im_ I/me.

So I say the message means "I possibly screwed your computor up"

So therefore this might be more like a confession than a malicious statement. /My opinion/

Eþimle nasýl tanýþtýk?

How did my husband and I first meet?

Ýyi hatýrlýyorum, on sekiz yaþýndaydým.

I remember well, I was sixteen.

En iyi arkadaþým Özlem´le birlikte bir partiye gittik.

My best friend, Özlem, and I went to a party together.

Ýçeri girdik.

We went inside.

Herkes Özlem´e selam verdi, çünkü orada onun birçok arkadaþý vardý.

Everyone greeted Özlem, because a lot of people there were his friends.

Özlem uzun boylu, güzel ve cana yakýn bir kýzdý.

Özlem was a tall, pretty and very close friend.

Ben ise ufak tefek, hafif toplu ve oldukça sýkýlgandým; üstelik pek de güzel deðildim.

I was small, really skinny and rather shy; plus I wasn´t very beautiful.

Partide bütün gençler Özlem´le dans etmek istedi.

At the party, all of the guys wanted to dance with Özlem.

Ben ise bir kenarda oturdum.

I just stood there in an isolated spot.

Hiç kimse beni dansa kaldýrmadý.

No one asked me to dance.

Bu sýrada Özlem arkadaþlarýndan birinin yanýna gitti ve beni iþaret etti, bir þeyler söyledi.

At this point, Özlem went with one of her friends, pointed me out, and said something.

Biraz sonra o genç yanýma geldi ve beni dansa davet etti.

A litte later that guy came over an invited me to dance.

Ben utandým ve teklifini kabul etmedim, ama o genç çok ýsrar etti.

I to shy and didn´t accept his offer, but he insisted.

Biraz dans ettik.

We danced a little.

Adý Ali´ydi, benimle ayný yaþtaydý ve gerçekten çok kibar bir gençti.

His name was Ali, he was the same age as me, and he was a very nice guy.

Danstan sonra bana "Yarýn ne yapýyorsun, Meral? Meþgul musun?" dedi.

After the dance he said to me, "What are you doing tomorrow, Meral? Are you busy?"

Ben de " Hiçbir iþim yok." dedim.

Then I said, "I don´t have to work."

Beni sinemaya davet etti, ben de memnuniyetle kabul ettim.

He invited me to the movies, and I gladly accepted.

Daha sonra Ali ve ben çok iyi anlaþtýk.

Later, Ali and I came to understand eachother very well.

Tam iki yýl sonra bana evlenme teklif etti.

Exactly two years later he proposed to me.

Benim doðum günümde, yani 12 Mart´ta evlendik.

We got married on my birthday, so on the 12th of March.

Þimdi üç çocuðmuz var ve çok mutlu bir aileyiz.

Now, we have three children and are a very happy family.

Sýk sýk Özlem´le buluþuyoruz, o hala benim en iyi arkadaþým.

Özlem and I often meet, she is still my best friend.

Özlem zaman zaman bana "O akþam iyi ki Ali´yi senin yanýna gönderdim ve sen de onun teflifini kabul ettin, deðil mi?" diyor.

From time to time, Özlem says to me, "It´s good that I sent Ali over to you that evening, and that you accepted his invitation, isn´t it?"

Özlem çok haklý.

Özlem is very right.

Really good overall.  Couple of notes

iyi hatýrlýyorum, on sekiz yaþýndaydým. /on sekiz is 18/

Ben ise bir kenarda oturdum.

/oturdum = I sat/  I read this as " If I sat on the edge (isolated spot)" /My opinion/

Pls could someone translate this for me?

"Thanks for your greetings and wishes. I hope and wish for fast recovery for your sister in law. Take care. "

Many thanks.

This should be about right. Maybe the native speakers can improve the choice of words.

"Selamlarin ve dileklarin için teþekkür ederim. Yengenin hizli iyileþmesi isteyip ve umarim. Kendine iyi bak."

I Know, maybe bitten from a comma as a child!!!!!

I really want to know what they are trying to tell me though! I´m pretty sure it is about Armenia but cant be sure, if this is offending i´m very sorry, please send a P.M with translation if that is the case.

Dont want to offend anyone.

Thank you

Scanning through it I don´t see anything offensive,  the message starts out like "I am a Turk that has lived 18 summers" (or something like that, and goes to talk about himself. )   I will  try to work on it later.  I don´t see any reference to Armenia.

Quoting tara_8930

what does this say??

walla baktýkca daha ii anlýom cok ii yapmýsýz ha

thanks

THere is no "w" in the Turkish and several words have to be misspelled if this is Turkish.. If "walla=eyvallah", then it means something like. "Thanks upon looking more I am understanding better how very good we did "ha"". If this translation doesn fit with what you know about the sender you will need a native speaker to help.
