Quoting Trudy

..............................

The actor who plays Mohannad, 24-year-old blonde and blue-eyed Kıvanç Tatlıtuğ, has become the idol of Algerian women to the chagrin of their menfolk.

Sad & funny at the same time.

I hope I can watch this show when I come to Turkey.   This actor must be the role model for all DuDuS now!

Merhaba, I would be grateful for someone to pls translate the following:-

"Mansur asked me to let you know flight details for Sunday. They are

Flight No (detail)

Arrive Ankara 14:30pm"

Many thanks for any assistance with this.

I think you know my limitations by now but this is pretty straightforward:

(not positive about the word order but I think it will be understandable)

"Mansur, beni, Pazar için sana uçuş ayrıntılari verdiğim, rica etti.

bunlar var.

uçuş numara (number)

Ankara variş 14:30" (pm not required with 24 hour clock)

(I assume they know who is traveling, it not entirely clear whether its you or mansur)
The three lines below will convery the essential information.  If the information is for Mansurs travel

then add "Mansurın" before Pazar.

Pazar Uçuş ayrıntılari
Uçuş (number)
Ankara varış 1430

Thank you very much, I guess my problem is my lack of understanding of English grammar - no wonder trying to learn Turkish is so hard!!!!{#lang_emotions_bigsmile}

Congratulate yourself, you asked a very good question.  Knowing English grammer may or may not help learn Turkish.

However Caliptrix has an ability to explain these things  in English grammar terminology, very impressively.  I surely appreciate his help here and always.  (now I worry about my English construction...   Allahim!)

Thread: Buses From İstanbul to Kuşadası and back

I want to get to Kuşadası on 13 October, and my wıfes frıend traveling with us was to go in the daytime so she can see the sights.   I have only found two bus companies with online schedules.   Ulusoy and Kamkoç(sp).  I have heard that in general you can go to the Otogar and any time of day or night and find a bus within a few hours, but so far it looks like ulusoy only has one bus daily to Kuşadasi and ıt is at 2330 at night, Kamkoc has a bus at 0800.   Can anyone suggest some other companies and how far in a advance we need to buy tickets?  Thanks in advance.

I hate to be a pest but could one of you give me the literal translation of this...I understand parts of it but I like to fully understand what I am going to say in Turkish so I can learn and don´t have to ask again.  Thanks for the extra help!

"Geçtiğimiz şubat ve mart aylarındaydı,seninle bodrumda tatildeyken tanışmıştık.Belkide yanlış kişisin ama aynı O´na benziyorsun.Gelecek ay bodrumda olacağım,eğer yapacak birşeyin yoksa yine beraber olabiliriz diye düşündüm.eğer yanlış kişiysen lütfen beni bağışla.iyi günler."

I have never heard a request for literal.   Here is my try pretty much as "literal" as it gets.   I do trust that Marion or another will "fix" it later. (Basically they think they know you, and want to get together again).

"That we are passing february and were into  March moons.(idiomatic don´t aske me to explain)
with you in Bodrum while on vacation we possibly had met.

Perhaps also this is by mistake but you are resemble these  people.  This next month in Bodrum I will be,
if you will be doing or otherwise new things  becoming together,  I wondered.  if you are mistaken people forgive me.

Good days."

I tried many times, but the network is always engaged.

Denedım, birçok kere, ama sebeke mesğul.....?

Not sure where to put the ´always´

My word order is probably wrong, and corrections gratefully received

Turkish word order from ´Manisa Turkish´

Turkish Word Order

Word order is regular, but differs from English.

  1. (1) Adjectival Descriptions of Subject.
  2. (2) The Subject.
  3. (3) Time Clauses.
  4. (4) Adjectival Descriptions of Object.
  5. (5) The Object
  6. - and finally -
  7. (6) The Verb.

I do appreciate this information.   What is your recommendation?  apparently since mesğul implies the "be" verb then  her zaman or daima would come after "ama".
