Ready to tour historic peninsula with bicycles?

Plans to turn Istanbul’s historic peninsula into a bicycle-friendly zone are underway, the mayor of the city’s Fatih Municipality has said.

We are done with the details of the project; soon it will be up for bidding,” said Fatih Mayor Mustafa Demir. “We are working for human centered-service and making the area more walkable.”

The municipality has already closed the area to traffic between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. everyday so that tourists and other people can walk freely, Demir added. “The streets are very small and they do not allow both walking and driving,” he said.

The new “smart bicycle project” will start in three to four months with 111 bikes, according to the mayor.

“People will be able to rent these bikes with their credit cards and drop them off in a different place than where they rented them,” Demir said. “We will have 10 terminals on the historic

peninsula allowing people to, for example, rent a bike in Eminönü and leave it at the Grand Bazaar.”

Out of the 111 total bicycles, 10 will be usable by the disabled and 45 will be hybrid bikes.

“This will also be a solution for the car-parking problem in the area and contribute to solving the traffic problem,” Demir said.

The second part of the letter ;

I didn´t mind adding you because as I´ve said I do like to meet new people and I have no bad intention intended, only to meet people for friendship. You added me and yet it´s like you have this hatred out on me? why? have I done anything to you? have I said anything that you didn´t like? please help me out here because I am lost?

First Part of your letter ;

Hello,

Why does it feel like you are insulting my intelligence? every time I log on line it´s like you jump on me and pound me, I come online to talk to people, meet new people and talk with my friends. I have absolutely no bad intention at all. I thought it was a social media site but you seem to have a hatred towards me and you don´t even know me and yet you´re the one who added me........... so I should be asking you this question, who are you?

Selam,

Quoting Henry

My attempt as a learner

Mine is also passing/going well (maybe holidays?)

but the telephone (?) is not taking (receiving messages?)

you will write tomorrow

(maybe this is misspelt and should be yarın yazarım = I will write tomorrow)

I agree with Henry, that is misspelt. It should be "yarın yazarım --> I will write [to you] tomorrow.

Benim de güzel geçiyo ama tel. Çekmiyo yarın yazarın

" Mine is also going well but my telephone[cell phone] cant get network here, so I will write to you tomorrow "

Quoting Abla

Something like this:

´What do you think of the sanctions that we set against Israel? (Please as far as possible share your political opinions.)´

  Lütfen olabildiğince siyasete girmeden görüşlerinizi paylaşınız

Try to share your toughts [views] without adding political opinions as much as you can.

note ; in other words, that person wants people not to add their political views when they share their views on the issue.

siyaset = politics

siyasete girmeden = siyaset konusuna girmemek = siyaset hakkında bahsetmemek

Quoting taraaski95

My friend called me this last night, and I was wondering what it was, he says there is no real meaning. But he also said it is just a good thing. I wonder if it´s because he is not good with English or its just one of those names...

Does anyone else know???

Teşekkürler

 Tara , dont worry,,it has no bad meaning. Its one of meaningless words that is used to show affection and care to whoever adresses to. So in this case it is you.
