Quoting Aaminah

Hi, can anybody please translate this poem from Turkish into English please? Thanks

Bunca zaman bana anlatmaya
çalıştığını,kendimi
bulduğumda anladım

I understood what you had tried to tell me all this time when i found myself

Herkesin mutlu olmak için başka bir yolu
varmış,

There has been another way of everybody to be happy.

Kendi yolumu çizdiğimde anladım

I understood it when i drew it.

Bir tek yaşanarak öğrenilirmiş hayat,
okuyarak,dinleyerek değil

Life can have been learned only by living not by reading, not by listening.

Bildiklerini bana neden
anlatmadığını, anladım

I understood why you hadn´t told me what you had known

Yüreğinde aşk olmadan geçen hergün
kayıpmış,

Eveyday passing without love in your heart has been a lost.

Aşk peşinden neden yalınayak
koştuğunu anladım

I understood why you had been running after love barefoot.

Acı doruğa ulaştığında
gözyaşı gelmezmiş gözlerden,
Neden hiç ağlamadığını
anladım

When the pain reachs to top, no tear has come from eyes. I understood why you hadn´t ever cried.

Ağlayanı güldürebilmek,ağlayanla
ağlamaktan daha değerliymiş

To make one who cries laugh has been more valuable than crying with one who cries.

Gözyaşımı kahkaya çevirdiğinde
anladım

I understood it when you transformed my tears into laughter.

Bir insanı herhangi biri kırabilir, ama bir
tek en çok sevdiği acıtabilirmiş,

Anyone can have broken any person but only the one who he/she loves can have hurted him/her

Çok acıttığında anladım

I understood when you hurted me so much

Fakat, hakedermiş sevilen onun için dökülen her
damla gözyaşını,
Gözyaşlarıyla birlikte sevinçler
terkettiğinde anladım

But the beloved has been worth every drop of tear which had been shed for her/him. I understood it when the joys left with tears

Yalan söylememek değil, gerçeği
gizlememekmiş marifet,

Yüreğini elime koyduğunda anladım..

Skill hasn´t been to not to tell lie but to not to hide the truth. I understood when you put your hand into my hand.

´´
Sana ihtiyacım var, gel ! ´´
diyebilmekmiş güçlü olmak,

Sana ´´git´´ dediğimde anladım..

To be able to say "I need you, come!" has been being strong. I understood when i said you "go"

Biri
sana ´´git´´ dediğinde, ´´kalmak istiyorum´´
diyebilmekmiş sevmek,

To be able to say "i want to stay" when someone say you "go" has been loving.

Git dediklerinde gittiğimde anladım..
Sana sevgim şımarık bir
çocukmuş,her düştüğünde zırıl
zırıl ağlayan,
Büyüyüp bana sımsıkı
sarıldığında anladım..

I understood it when they said go. My love for you has been a spoilt child who wept a flood of tears everytime when he fell. I understood when you hug me very tight.

Özür dilemek değil, ´´affet beni´´ diye
haykırmak istemekmiş pişman olmak,

Gerçekten pişman olduğumda anladım..

To regret hasn´t been to apolagize but to want to shout as "forgive me". I understood when I really regretted.

Ve gurur, kaybedenlerin,acizlerin maskesiymiş,

Sevgi dolu yüreklerin gururu olmazmış,

Yüreğimde sevgi bulduğumda anladım..

And pride has been a mask of losers and weaks. The hearts filled with love can´t have pride. I understood it when i found love in my heart.

Ölürcesine isteyen,beklemez,sadece umut edermiş
bir gün affedilmeyi,

Beni afetmeni ölürcesine istediğimde
anladım..

One who wants crazily hasn´t waited, he/she has only hoped to be forgiven one day. I understood it when i wanted you to forgive me crazily.

Sevgi emekmiş,

Emek ise vazgeçmeyecek kadar, ama özgür bırakacak
kadar sevmekmiş

Love has been labor. And labor has been to love not enough to give up but enough to let him/her be free.

Many thanks {#emotions_dlg.bigsmile}

 Please somebody correct me. {#emotions_dlg.bigsmile}

Have a nice future with your dirty (in every aspect)  nuclear energy And you´d better get ready for even worse bombs than those dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Nothing, even your lovely "physics", is more precious than human life.

(from wikipedia)

Within the first two to four months of the bombings, the acute effects killed 90,000–166,000 people in Hiroshima and 60,000–80,000 in Nagasaki, with roughly half of the deaths in each city occurring on the first day. The Hiroshima prefectural health department estimates that, of the people who died on the day of the explosion, 60% died from flash or flame burns, 30% from falling debris and 10% from other causes. During the following months, large numbers died from the effect of burns, radiation sickness, and other injuries, compounded by illness. A plausible estimate of the total immediate and short term cause of death, 15–20% died from radiation sickness, 20–30% from flash burns, and 50–60% from other injuries, compounded by illness.

In both cities, most of the dead were civilians.

So you say we must stop studying physics. I am not defending atom bombs or nuclear energy. I am defending science. We must use science to create a happy future for humanity not to kill people.

Planning a trip to Mekke sounds fantastic and I think it will be brilliant for both you and your dad.  I really hope you can plan it soon.  I am praying for your dad too.

Mekkeye bir seyehat planlamak kulağa muhteşem geliyor.Bence sen ve baban için harika olacak. Umarım yakın zamanda planlarsınız. Baban için de dua ediyorum.

All racists accuse other nations of being evil, barbarian, liar, murderer, thief. They give examples. At the end they say it is best to get rid of them. Some hate Turks, some hate Jews, some hate Americans, some hate Arabs. Every racist has his own arguements. To make their arguements more convincing they generalize a bad image as a nation´s image. You think gypsies are bad, others think Jews are bad, others think Armenians are bad. Jews had a worse image than gypsies in the beginning of 20. century but now they are considered as a modern nation. People respect Jews because of their achievements. Most of nobel winners are Jews. So it proves us insulting a nation with false accusations get us nowhere. We must respect nations and their potentials.

Check this: http://www.imninalu.net/famousGypsies.htm

You blame gypsies for stealing and being unhygienic. If i was poor like some gypsies i would steal and be unhygienic too. If i was externalized like them i would be a murderer too. If you want to understand what means being a gypsy you must read this novel: The Painted Bird by Jerzy Kosinski. You can find a free e-book version of it on the net. If you want to discuss this matter further please read it and then we can discuss about it here or privately. Have a nice day
