Notes:

1. That´s what I suspected: in Turkish they are unreal conditions. What is possible in one language is not possible in another. It is sad actually: when you translate you always lose something from the original meaning.

2.The real issue was the generic person. Like

What I was trying to say was ´what one usually can do with his hands´. Anyone. I know Turkish has more than one way to express generic person, at least sg 2nd and 3rd persons, (impersonal) passive, pl 1st maybe. yap|ıl|abil|diğ|i|n|i was trying to be a passive form ´what can be done (ACC)´, I can´t understand what brings up the sg 2nd meaning here.

You go to an open place, a rock or a cliff by the sea, or in the middle of a meadow, lie down on your back and concentrate. It has to be a clear cloudless summer day. First you measure a hundred meters and place a mark in the place you have come to. Take another hundred meters and do the same. Pass the birds, children´s escaped balloons, airplanes, weather satellites and go on single-minded step by step until you reach the end.

This is how we do it.

How come in my thinking the connection is so obvious? That´s what the concept of hell is all about.

I have lived in a poor country in an overcrowded slum among people who didn´t have anything but their righteusness based on their beliefs. Everyone knew my door was broken: you could open it by just kicking. No one ever kicked it.

Do these sentences make sense? How could I make them sound better?

In the original text which is unfortunately not English all the if sentences are real conditionals (If I know everything, if I have gone everywhere etc.). I wonder if it works in Turkish or if unreal conditional is needed.

My Try:

I´m sorry. Hüsein was my neighbor. I liked him a lot but that was his lifespan. We say it was the time when he was fated to die. On that day I had come from Istanbul to our village about one hour earlier. I heard this bitter news. There was nothing to do about it. It was ordered by Allah. I recently read about a research which proves that fear of God really works.

Religions have often been considered a shelter against crime and unethical action.  Professor Arif Shariff from University of Oregon says it is also important to take into account what those religions teach. He says crime happens more in cultures which believe in forgiving and benevolent God. Religions with a strong penalising element prevent crime more efficiently.
