What happens when all acts classified as "sin" according to religions, also become punishable under civil laws ?

I don´t know if you ment it as a rhetorical question but I can imagine things like

- hypocracy wins, fear of God loses

- there is no limit between private and public

- laws are broken more because it is more difficult to supervise if people follow them or not

- as a result laws are respected less

- brotherhood loses because everyone is a potential nark

- freedom of religion is gone.

I have understood in the Islamic state of Medina the execution of sharia was very much based on confession and personal feeling of guilt.

In the light of tradition, I don´t know if the dog thing is so much seen as a sin. It is a loss. I mean it´s a problem for a believer if angels refuse to enter his house.

bazen ilk görüşte anlarsın,o senin kaderindir

bazen bir ömür ararsın,bulunmaz...

Bırak gitsin!

Dönerse senindir;

Dönmezse zaten hiç senin olmamıştır...

My Try:

Sometimes you understand at first sight, that´s your fate.

Sometimes you seek for a lifetime with no success.

Give it up, let him go.

If he comes back he is yours

and if he won´t he probably wasn´t yours in the first place.

Dertle anlaş deva bul üzüntü kalbi sömürür

Yüzüne baktığım her an cennetten bahçe görülür

Seni içeren masallarım anlatılacak kadar kısa değiller

Come to terms with the pain, find a cure, sorrow will eat up the heart.

Every time I look at your face a garden of Paradise comes to my sight.

My fairy tales of you are not so short that they could be told.

Bu dilden çıkmış her söz, yaydan çıkmış ok gibi

Sözler bazen bir hazine bazen dermansız bir dert gibi

En güzel şiirlerimde kaleme adını sayıklarım.
Odamın hayaletisin sen, sessizliğine aşığım

My Try:

Every word that comes from this tongue is like an arrow coming from a bow.

Words are sometimes like a treasure, sometimes like an incurable pain.

In my most beautiful poems I talked constantly to the pen repeating your name.

You are the ghost of my room, I am in love with your silence.

Aradığın şeyi yüreğinle bulacaksın..! ...

Dünya’da ki tüm kitaplar, tüm hesaplar, akıl oyunları, sayfalarca laflar,  sevginin yerini tutmaz!

My Try:

What you are looking for you will find with your heart.

All the books in the world, all the calculations, brain games, pages full of empty words can ever take the place of love.

kuyu means ´well, pit´ and there are some suffixes attached to it:

                      kuyu|su|n|da = stem + POSS sg 3rd + pronominal -n- + LOC

I wish a native would explain the mi thing better. I have seen it in the intensifying function not only between adjectives but between verbs (gitti mi gitti) and adverbs (hiç mi hiç), too.

Uykumun derin mi derin kuyusunda Elif’in sesi yankılandı

mi doesn´t make a question here. Between repeated adjectives it intensifies their meaning, for instance:

İhtiyar zengin mi zengin. ´The old man is really rich.´

My Try for the meaning:

Elif´s voice resounded with echoes in the deep deep well of my sleep.
