Quoting *Carla Louise*

Ahh! I already sent the messages this morning, will they still be understood? Thank you very much for everyone´s help though still

Also, could I say (if it´s just for a single person:::

Mutlu yýllar! 2009´un sana dünyadaki bütün mutluluðu getirmesini dilerim. Ve telefon kontörü! Hehe.

Don´t worry, they were understandable

and yes, it depends on how close your relation with this person is, but to a friend, you can say "sana" of course

Quoting sonunda

Of course it is!  (I was thinking ´gelin´ as bride/daughter-in-law!)

(PS-we´d probably just say ´let´s celebrate!´

bride

oh yes, thanks. actually in Turkish also you can say "kutlayalým" instead of "kutlama yapalým".

I would like to wish a happy new year to my lying, cheating, bastard of a (very soon to be ex)boyfriend!!  Could someone please help? {#lang_emotions_satisfied_nod}

We are finished.  I found out about your friend Natalie from Hartlepool!!  Your are a lying, cheating bastard.  I´m sure you had many more ´friends´ over the summer, probably from Newcastle.  Was I the only one stupid enough to come back and see you??  I´m sure I was right about the ring as well, wasn´t I?  And as for all the rubbish you wrote in the letter that Mehmet translated for me forget it.  I can´t believe you would lie to me like that.  What did I do to deserve it?

Wishing you a happy new year.  I hope you get everything you deserve.

Thanks to anyone who can help. {#lang_emotions_flowers}

Quoting lady in red

Cheeky monkey is ´Yüzsüz maymun´ - but as some quite common expressions in English are considered a bit insulting in Turkish - as they said above - I would be careful if I were you!

I think telling someone they ´look like a monkey´ would be considered fairly rude in any language though!

yes it is not nice to use the literal translation " yüzsüz küçük maymunum" in Turkish.

maybe native English speakers may help saying in what situation they use it and we can find such a thing that we use

i heard that it is used for people who pretend to know it all, and then you can say "çok bilmiþ seni!". but as I have said I am not sure about its meaning.

some little additions:

not "herkesin" but "herkes" iyidir.

and "best wishes" is "en iyi dileklerimle"

and "telephone credit" is (for prepaid mobiles?) "kontör" in Turkish, or "telefon kontörü"

so to sum up

Mutlu yýllar!(or "Yeni yýlýnýz kutlu olsun!") 2009´un size dünyadaki bütün mutluluðu getirmesini dilerim. Ve telefon kontörü! Hehe.

My try as a learner for the first bit:

March is good yes eðer ben okuldan fýrsat bulabilirsem.

March is good, yes if I can find an opportunity (to get permission) from school.

 and some more

caným yarýn da okula gitmek istemiyor

My love tomorrow I don´t want to go to school

"caný istemek" is "to feel like to do something","to be in the mood to do something"

so "I don´t feel like going to school also tomorrow"

Arkadaþlar söyledi sýnýftan bir arkadaþ beni seviyormuþ.

My friends told me a friend from class loves me.

Herkese söylemiþ ama niyeyse benim en son haberim oldu.

He told everybody, but what if it had been my latest news. (not sure of the last bit)

"niyeyse" =>"not known why" but better to translate as "I don´t know why"

He told everybody, but I don´t know why I am the last one to get the news.

Quoting ..Laulau..

If someone said  Nasýlsýnýz?   and i replied with iyiyim, teþekkür ederim  how would i say ´and you?´   would it be: sýnýz?

"-sýnýz" is just the suffix, you cannot use it alone.

You can say

-Ya siz?

-Siz?

-Siz nasýlsýnýz?
