lol... so when you think of a country that adores a dead statesman, the first country that comes to mind is North Korea...while posting on a Turkish forum. Made me laugh

If you had such a hero, you would adore too I have another hero other than Atatürk too. Here she is, Rachel Corrie. She was an American and not a statesman.

I came across some Bektashi jokes which are part of Turkish folklore. I was amazed.

http://bektashiorder.com/nodequeue/1?page=1

http://www.nicholaswhyte.info/wordpress/?p=3806

They are so bold. And their message goes straight into the core of Islamic teachings. I wonder if someone regards them as blasphemy? Well, I don´t. I think the humouristic point is especially in being well informed about the topic and still turning it upside down.

What is the connection between Bektashi order and this story tradition? Are these sufis such humoristic people or is it more like making fun of their beliefs?

I love Bektaşi way. The source of their humor is criticising the hypocracy of fanatics and accepting their own weaknesses. They are humanists. They easily make fun of themselves. They don´t fast, they don´t pray but they believe God will forgive them. They don´t think they should be afraid of God. Because they believe God is the most merciful. They know being a good person is more important than performing religious rituals. Performing them doesn´t make everybody a better person. They criticise people who behave like a religious person but don´t help even their neighbours.

Please if someone could help me translate.

"My schedule is flexible. Please tell me when would be good to come visit you. I will be in Turkey until 6 or 8 November."

Benim takvimim esnek. Lütfen seni ne zaman ziyarete gelmemin uygun olacağını söyle. 6 ya da 8 kasım´a kadar Türkiye´de olacağım.

Thank you.  This will be really helpful.

{#emotions_dlg.flowers}hi everyone..........i need help

can someone translate this song please..........

Seher yeli bizim ele gidersen
Nazlı yâre küstüğümü söyleme
Ne hallere düştüğümü sorarsa o yâr beni sorarsa
Bağrıma taş bastığımı söyleme

O morning wind! If you go to my land

Don´t say to my love that I am upset with her.

If she asks me and how I am

Don´t say I hug a stone (instead of her).

Ağrılar baş tutar ahuzardayım
Mansur gibi çekilmişim dardayım
gezer dolaşırım bilmem nerdeyim
Deli deli estiğimi yâre söyleme

I have headaches, I am moaning and crying

Like Mansur I am hanging on a gallows tree

I wander and travel but I don´t know where I am

Don´t say to my love that I blow crazily (like a wind)

Belki birgün çıkar gelir diyorlar
Gönül muradını alır diyorlar
Seven seveni bulur diyorlar
Umudumu kestiğimi söyleme yâre söyleme

They say maybe she will come one day

They say heart gets what it desires

They say lover finds lover

Don´t say to my love that I gave up hope.

Could you please translate this amazing lyrics of the song "Felt So Right" to Turksih please?

I love you
I don´t know what else to say
´cause I long for you more each day
I need you
I want to feel your embrace
And have a chance to touch your face

Seni seviyorum

Başka ne söylemeliyim bilmiyorum

çünkü seni her gün biraz daha özlüyorum

Sana ihtiyacım var

beni kucaklamanı hissetmek istiyorum

ve yüzüne dokunmak için bir şans istiyorum

I was lost and alone
But you showed me the way
Now I call you my own
Things will never be the same

Kayıp ve yalnızdım

Ama bana yolu gösterdin

Şimdi seni benimki diye çağırabilirim

Hiçbir şey aynı olmayacak

How could I´ve known
You will hold me close so tenderly
Even though I´m alone
I can feel your arms enfolding me
And that love, became mine in just one night
When you held me tight
Oooh... it felt so right

Nasıl bilebilirdim

Beni o kadar şefkatle tutacağını

Yalnız olsam da

Hissedebiliyorum beni saran kollarını

Ve o aşk, bir gecede benim oldu

Beni sıkıca tuttuğunda

Ahhh... çok iyiydi.

I feel you
You´re always here in my heart
It´s where I´ve kept you since we fell apart

Seni hissediyorum

Hep burada kalbimdesin

Ayrıldığımızdan beri seni tuttuğum yerdesin.

[ Lyrics from: http://www.lyricsmode.com/lyrics/s/sarah_geronimo/felt_so_right.html ]
I was lost and alone
But you showed me the way
Can´t go on, on my own
Wishin´ that you would stay

Kayıp ve yalnızdım

Ama bana yolu gösterdin

Kendi başıma devam edemem

Keşke kalabilsen

How could I´ve known
You will hold me close so tenderly
Even though I´m alone
I can feel your arms enfolding me
And that love, became mine in just one night
When you held me tight
Oooh... it felt so right

Nasıl bilebilirdim

Beni o kadar şefkatle tutacağını

Yalnız olsam da

Hissedebiliyorum beni saran kollarını

Ve o aşk, bir gecede benim oldu

Beni sıkıca tuttuğunda

Ahhh... çok iyiydi.

I was lost and alone
But you showed me the way
Can´t go on, on my own
Wishin´ that you would stay
Tell me that you would stay...

Kayıp ve yalnızdım

Ama bana yolu gösterdin

Kendi başıma devam edemem

Keşke kalabilsen

How could I´ve know (how could I´ve known… ohh)
(Ooh)You will hold me close so tenderly (oohh)
(Ooh)Even though I´m alone
I can feel your arms enfolding me (your arms enfold me)
And that love, became mine in just one night
When you held me tight
Oooh... it felt so right
Felt so right…
Hmmm… felt so right.

Nasıl bilebilirdim

Beni o kadar şefkatle tutacağını

Yalnız olsam da

Hissedebiliyorum beni saran kollarını

Ve o aşk, bir gecede benim oldu

Beni sıkıca tuttuğunda

Ahhh... çok iyiydi.

Çok iyiydi.

Hmm.. çok iyiydi.

"Missing someone is a part of Loving them, if you are never apart, you´ll never know how strong your love really is."

Could you please translate it to Turkish?

Scott

Birisini özlemek onu sevmenin bir parçasıdır. Eğer hiç ayrı kalmazsanız, aşkınızın ne kadar güçlü olduğunu asla öğrenemezsiniz.
