 bUnLaRdA bEnIm SiIrLeRiM

and these are my poems

 UmArIm bEgEnIrSiNiZ

I hope you like

 Basaramadim iste!!

see I wasnt able to succeed. I couldnt manage

Seni kalbimden söküp atmayi basaramadim.

I couldn´t manage to tear you apart from my heart

Ne kadar denesem de seni unutmayi olmadi.

it failed to forget you no matter how much I tried

O guzel gülüşünü gozlerimden atamadim bir türlü.

your smile so beautiful ? somehow I couldnt cast your so beautiful smile from my eyes

 Hayalinle hayal kurmaktan vazgecemedim.

I couldnt give up dreaming with your dream daydreaming

Gozlerimi her kapadigimda seni düşünmeden uyuyamadim.

when ever I closed my eyes I couldnt sleep without thinking of you

Gozlerimi her actigimda ise fotografina bakamadan edemedim.

if whenever I opened my eyes I couldnt cope without looking at your photo

Her yagmur yagdiginda pencere kenarina oturup seni beklemekten vazgecemedim.

when ever it rained I couldnt give up waiting for you on the edge  of the window

Sana olan askimi anlatan sarkilar dinledigimde gozlerimdeki yaslara engel olamadim.

I was unable to prevent the tears that  were in my eyes when I listened to songs that explained my love  thats being for you

Gecenin soguk karanliginda seni aramaktan bir türlü yorulmadim.

somehow I didnt  become weary of searching/ for longing for you at all in the cold darkness of the nights

Her gece yalniz sana ve senin icin siirler yazmaktan usanmadim.

alone everynight I didnt get bored of writing poems for you and to you

Icimeki seni öldürmeyi denedim ama kiyamadim.

I tried to kill you thats inside of me but I couldnt kill

 Basaramadim iste... Seni unutmayi basaramadim...

thats it, I couldnt accomplish iI couldnt forget you

my try but wait for the corrections and the bits I didnt do

Great translation.

Search for them thoroughly.

You will take one of them and come.

I even talked to my brother today too.

He said you haven´t understood completely everything.

But I thought you understood me.

Come on, go and find those tours.

But you forget this point: There are people here learning Turkish and they observe the translations and come to conclusions about some grammer issues and sometimes a very non-literal translation  misleads them. So I try to be literal as much as I can and if my translation is not very literal I mention it.

Of course we cant completely translate a text literally. But I always try to find a way that will make leraners and others happy. I try to find a balance.

Quoting Abla

Çok teşekkür ederim, gokuyum. A couple of things:

I thought I will ease the structure by saving the long introduction after the subject, but it wasn´t a good choice. Could I take this as a rule? This way meaning is clearer.

2. Wallander, konusu güneyli Skåne´in ilindeki  güney eyaletindeki Malmö şehrinin 60 kilometre güneydoğusundaki Ystad kasabasının içiyle etrafında geçen birçok esrarlı romanın kahramandır. Does your correction mean ´in the south of Skåne´ or ´in Skåne which is the southern province of Sweden´? I was trying to say the latter..... Ystad town that is 60 km southeast of Malmo city which is in the south province of Skane.

And still one thing, gokuyum:

Do you know Henning Mankell? Are his works translated into Turkish? Mankell was one of the well-known culture persons who was present on the accompanying vessel of Mavi Marmara a couple of years ago. No, I dont know him.

Quoting Abla

Please.

1. Kurt Wallander is a fictional character created by Swedish crime writer Henning Mankell. Kurt Wallander, İsveçli suç romanları yazarı Henning Mankell tarafından yaratılan (bt: yaratılmış ) bir kurgusal karakterdir.

2. As a young police officer, Wallander was nearly killed when a drunk whom he was questioning stabbed him with a butcher´s knife. Wallander genç bir polis memuruyken sorgulamakta olduğu bir içkici (bt: ayyaş ) ona bir kasap bıçağı sapladığı gün hemen hemen öldürülmüş  neredeyse ölüyormuş.(without causative and passive it is better)

3. Wallander was once married, but his wife left him.

4. He has since had a difficult relationship with his rebellious only child, Linda, who just barely survived a suicide attempt when she was fifteen.

5. His late father, an artist who painted the same landscape 7,000 times for a living, strongly disapproved of his son´s decision to become a police officer.

6. Inspector Wallander has few close friends, he consumes too much alcohol and junk food, exercises very little, and sometimes struggles with his own anger. (1)after coma it is a new sentence and it doesnt have a direct realtionship with the predicate before so I discarded -ıp)

7. He frequently regards the crimes he investigates on a very personal level, going against the orders of his superiors to try to solve a case. Sık sık üstünlerinin buyruklarına karşı gelerek vukuatı çözmeye çalışmak için araştırdığı suçları çok kişisel alır.

8. Over the years he has grown increasingly disillusioned with his work, and often wonders whether he should have become a police officer at all. Yıllar geçtikçe artan bir şekilde işinin gerçeğinin farkına vardı (1), çoğu kez asla bir polis memuru asla olmaysa olmasa mıydım diye düşünüyor.

9. Wallander lives with the guilt of having shot and killed a man.

10. This act drove him into depression and nearly led to his resignation. Bu iş onu bunalıma girdirip sokup hemen hemen (bt: neredeyse) istifa ettirdi.

11. He is diagnosed with diabetes, and towards the end of his career he also suffers from memory lapses.

12. Wallander is the protagonist of several mystery novels, set in and around the town of Ystad, 60 km south-east of the city of Malmö, in the southern province of Skåne. Wallander, konusu güneyli Skåne´in ilindeki  güney eyaletindeki Malmö şehrinin 60 kilometre güneydoğusundaki Ystad kasabasının içiyle etrafında geçen birçok esrarlı romanın kahramandır.

13. Wallander has been portrayed on screen by the actors Rolf Lassgård, Krister Henriksson and Kenneth Branagh. Wallander, aktörler Rolf Lassgård, Krister Henriksson ve Kenneth Branagh tarafından ekranlara aktarılmıştır.

Note: bt means better

Quoting Abla

I have understood diye structure is always a direct quote. It is a funny, transparent piece of language but I never succeeded to use it correct until now.

gokuyum, thanks for enlightening me.

I am not sure about those sentences abla. Third person and first person both make sense. There must be an explanation for it.

The important thing here is I started to sentence with third person then I used first person and then I finished it with a third person personal ending. This is because "diye"  function as a quote. I could use third person always but in the second sentence when I used third person in the middle it didnt make sense.

Well it makes sense now. So I could use third person everywhere in the sentences.
